Men’s Tennis Heads to Athens for Bulldog Invite

Cadonau, Engelhardt and Stearns to Compete for the Rebels
OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss' Jakob Cadonau, Lukas Engelhardt and Walker Stearns are set to compete at the Bulldog Invite hosted by Georgia this weekend. Tournament competition begins Friday and runs through Sunday, Oct. 10.
Competition at the Georgia Invite will take place both outdoors and indoors at the Magill Tennis Complex. Friday competition will consist of one round of singles and two rounds of doubles due to the threat of rain in the area. Saturday and Sunday competition will consist of two rounds of singles and one round of doubles. Competition begins at 8 a.m. CT each day this weekend.
The event is divided between four singles draws and three doubles draws. Engelhardt will be competing in the top-level Magill Draw in singles. Cadonau is in the second-tier Red Draw and Stearns is in the Silver Draw. Cadonau and Engelhardt also received the No. 2 seed in the Red Draw for doubles.
Scoring consists of standard best two out of three set, no-ad, scoring in singles and eight-game pro-set scoring in doubles.
Engelhardt faces Georgia's Thomas Paulsell at 8 a.m. CT on Friday. Paulsell, a freshman, was rated as the No. 5 recruit in the United States by tennisrecruiting.net.
Cadonau faces Geogia Tech's Brandon McKinney at 8 a.m. CT tomorrow. McKiney recorded a 12-12 record for the Yellow Jackets last season.
Stearns is set to face UNC-Wilmington's Reece Falck at 11:30 a.m. CT on Friday. Falck, a Fresno State transfer, earned an 11-2 record last season. Stearns won his first collegiate match via walkover last Sunday, and will look to earn his first victory on his terms.
Engelhardt, Cadonau and Stearns all competed in the Prequalifying Draw at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma earlier this week.
