Women’s Tennis to Compete in John Cade Invitational this Weekend

Rebels Travel to Starkville for Mississippi State’s Fall Event
OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss women's tennis will compete in its final team invite for the fall, the John Cade Invitational at Mississippi State, starting Friday and ending on Sunday.
The John Cade Invitational is set to take place at the A.J. Pitts Tennis Center (outdoors) and at the Mississippi State Tennis Pavilion (indoors). Play for each day of competition will begin at 10 a.m. CT. Results will be uploaded to the Mississippi State athletics website. Draws are to be finalized prior to competition commencing on Friday morning. All results can be found at HailState.com/livewt.
The event is named after John Cade. Cade was a longtime S.I.D. and Sport Administrator for tennis at Mississippi State. He recently retired at the end of the 2021 season.
Ole Miss has competed in five ITA sanctioned events this fall: The Milwaukee Tennis Classic, Ole Miss Fall Invite, ITA All-American Championships, ITA Southern Championships and Roberta Alison Classic.
Ole Miss enters the weekend with a combined record of 33-25 in singles and 19-17 in doubles matches. The Rebels are 5-5 versus nationally-ranked opponents in singles and 1-4 versus ranked doubles teams.
The Rebels will be without Tiphanie Fiquet, Kelsey Mize and Ludmila Karesiová for the event. Fiquet, Mize and Karesiová are currently competing in the ITA National Fall Championships in San Diego. Fiquet leads the team with three ranked wins, followed by ITA No. 27 Sabina Machalova with two ranked victories. Mize and Karesiová earned the Rebels' sole ranked doubles win this season.
