Ole Miss Men’s Tennis Loses at No. 3 Tennessee

Rebels Fall 7-0 to Volunteers in Knoxville
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Ole Miss (3-5, 2-1 SEC) were swept by No. 3 Tennessee (14-1, 3-0 SEC) on Sunday.
The Rebels fell for the fifth time this season, losing for the second time to the Volunteers. Ole Miss was swept in defeat for the first time this season. The Rebels lost all seven decision points, and failed to win a single set off of the Volunteers.
In singles, Ole Miss lost all seven matches to Tennessee. The Rebels won at least three games in eight of 12 total sets.
At No. 1 singles, Finn Reynolds stood toe-to-toe with Tennessee's No. 24 Adam Walton. Reynolds fell to Walton in two tiebreaks, 7-6 (3), 7-6 (2). Reynolds has now faced four consecutive top-75 ranked opponents, including two within the top 25.
At No. 2 singles, No. 62 Tim Sandkaulen lost 6-3, 6-3 to Tennessee's Johannus Monday. Monday has earned SEC Freshman of the Week honors for all five weeks this season.
In a rematch from January 22, Nikola Slavic fell to Tennessee's Martim Prata 7-5, 6-1. In their last match, Slavic won nine games in defeat.
Singles No. 4-6 lost to Tennessee in straight-set matches.
In doubles, the Rebels lost two matches with one unfinished to give the Volunteers the opening decision point. No. 7 Reynolds and Sandkaulen's match went unfinished against Pat Harper and Walton at 5-3. Reynolds and Sandkaulen defeated the Tennessee duo, 7-6, in their last meeting at ITA Kickoff Weekend. Ole Miss was defeated by Tennessee 6-3 at No. 2 doubles and 6-1 at No. 3 doubles.
