Ole Miss will host its first outdoor home match of the 2021 season on Friday. Ole Miss last hosted a men's tennis match at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center in April, 2019.

Strong in the SEC

Last weekend the Rebels split two road matches, winning 4-3 at No. 12 Georgia and falling 7-0 to No. 3 Tennessee. Ole Miss has opened the SEC season 2-1 after sweeping Arkansas, 7-0, in the conference opener (Feb. 21).

Despite losing the doubles point to Georgia, the Rebels prevailed 4-2 in singles to upset the Bulldogs. Ole Miss earned its first ranked victory of the season and defeated Georgia on the road for the first time since 2003. Finn Reynolds, Tim Sandkaulen, John Hallquist Lithén and Simon Junk earned victories for the Rebels in straight sets.

The Rebels will host five consecutive SEC matches this month, beginning Friday versus LSU.

Last Time Facing LSU

Ole Miss won at LSU, 4-3, in 2019. Sandkaulen clinched the win for the Rebels at No. 1 singles. Reynolds and Junk also earned victories for Ole Miss.

The Rebels have won the last two meetings versus the Tigers, but trail the all-time series 48-18.

Scouting the Tigers

LSU has won nine of 13 matches this season. The Tigers have competed at home 11 times on the year (8-3 at home). The Tigers are 0-1 on the road and 1-0 in neutral site matches.

The Tigers are 1-4 this season versus ranked opponents. LSU swept No. 23 Texas Tech, 4-0, on Feb. 4. The Tigers won their SEC opening match of the season versus Vanderbilt on Feb. 19.
LSU features one ranked singles player, No. 99 Ronald Hohmann. Hohmann has compiled a 6-4 dual record at No. 1 singles. Hohmann and Rafael Wagner are ranked No. 60 in doubles and have a 7-5 record this dual season.

Last Time Facing Texas A&M

The Rebels narrowly lost the season-opener 4-3 to No. 11 Texas A&M. The doubles point proved decisive as Ole Miss dropped the opening point and ensued to split singles with the Aggies. Nikola Slavic, Junk, and Lithén earned singles victories.

Ole Miss last defeated Texas A&M at ITA Kickoff Weekend in 2017.

Scouting the Aggies

Texas A&M have won eight of their first ten matches this season. The Aggies are 4-0 on the road this season, claiming wins at Ole Miss, FGCU, UCF, and Vanderbilt. Texas A&M are 5-2 versus ranked opponents this season.

Led by No. 4 Valentin Vacherot and No. 13 Hady Habib, the Aggies have a combined 38-17 singles record in duals this season. Habib and No. 110 Barnaby Smith have both won their last six matches.

Despite utilizing seven different doubles teams during the duals, Texas A&M have a strong overall record of 19-7 in doubles matches.
