OXFORD, Miss. – No. 19 Ole Miss (5-5, 4-1 SEC) will compete versus No. 7 Florida (10-1, 6-0 SEC) on Friday at 5 p.m. CT and at 1 p.m. versus No. 14 South Carolina (8-4, 4-2 SEC) on Sunday.
Ole Miss has earned victories in four of the last five matches. The Rebels have earned three ranked wins in the last four matches including victories over two top-15 programs (No. 12 Georgia and No. 11 Texas A&M).
Weekend Sweep
Ole Miss began the month of March in excellent form, defeating both No. 38 LSU last Friday (March 5) and No. 11 Texas A&M last Sunday (March 7). The Rebels defeated the Tigers 6-1. After falling 2-1 in doubles, the Rebels swept singles versus LSU. Finn Reynolds defeated No. 99 Ronald Hohmann in three sets, and all other Rebels won in straight sets versus the Tigers. Ole Miss defeated No. 11 Texas A&M 5-2 and claimed their first victory over the Aggies since 2017. Reynolds clinched the match for the Rebels by winning over No. 13 Hady Habib at No. 1 singles. Ole Miss won two of three doubles matches and Nikola Slavic, John Hallquist Lithén and Lukas Engelhardt also earned singles victories.
Last Time Facing Florida
Ole Miss lost to the Gators 6-1 in their last meeting in 2019. The Rebels last defeated the Gators in 2015.
Scouting the Gators
Florida has won 10 of 11 matches this season and come to Oxford on a seven-match win streak. Last weekend, Florida defeated No. 3 Tennessee 5-2 and swept No. 14 Georgia 7-0. The Gators' sole loss this season was at Texas 4-3 during ITA Kickoff Weekend (Jan. 23).
Florida features five ranked singles players, No. 8 Sam Riffice, No. 12 Duarte Vale, No. 68 Blaise Bicknell, No. 85 Andy Andrade and No. 96 Lukas Greif. Riffice and Vale are also ranked No. 45 in doubles. Ben Shelton leads Florida with 10 dual wins in singles.
Last Time Facing South Carolina
Ole Miss lost to South Carolina 4-3 in 2019. Simon Junk and Jan Soren Hain earned victories for the Rebels in defeat. Ole Miss leads the all-time series 26-11 dating back to 1975.
Scouting the Gamecocks
South Carolina has won eight of 12 matches this season. The Gamecocks have earned three victories this season versus top-25 opponents (No. 23 Alabama, No. 23 Duke and No. 14 Georgia). South Carolina is 4-3 on the road this season.
The Gamecocks are led in singles by three ranked student-athletes, No. 32 Daniel Rodrigues, No. 81 Raphael Lambling and No. 118 Connor Thomson. Rodrigues and Thomson are ranked No. 44 in doubles and Lambling and Phillip Jordan rank No. 59 in the nation. Jake Beasley leads the team with eight dual wins in singles this season.
