No. 9 Rebels Clinched Victory at 4-0 Over No. 11 Bulldogs
OXFORD, Miss. – No. 9 Ole Miss (8-7, 6-3 SEC) triumphantly won, 5-2, versus rival No. 11 Mississippi State (12-6, 2-5 SEC) on Sunday.
The Rebels defeated the Bulldogs in their first meeting since 2019. Ole Miss earned its first victory versus Mississippi State since 2017. The Rebels extended their lead in the all-time series to 20 matches, ahead 51-31 across 82 competitions since 1970.

"We came out firing in doubles and were able to keep the momentum in singles today. I feel like we're starting to play some really good tennis and that is obviously very exciting."
How it Happened
Ole Miss got off to a strong start, sweeping doubles 2-0 versus Mississippi State. Brady Draheim and Simon Junk won first for the Rebels by defeating Nemanja Malesevic and Davide Tortora 6-2. Draheim and Junk won four straight games when tied 2-2 in the match to pull away from the Bulldogs and give the Rebels a 1-0 advantage. The doubles point was clinched by Ole Miss' No. 1 doubles pairing. In their first match ranked as the No. 1 team in the nation, Finn Reynolds and Tim Sandkaulen defeated No. 37 Florian Broska and Gregor Ramskogler 6-4. Ole Miss took a 1-0 overall lead in the match.
The Rebels carried the momentum into singles play. At No. 3 Singles, No. 36 Nikola Slavic defeated No. 56 Malesevic in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2. Slavic won first in singles on Sunday and improved to 7-2 versus ranked opponents this season.
No. 65 Sandkaulen won his match minutes after Slavic extended the Rebels' lead to 2-0. Sandkaulen won 6-3, 6-3, over Mississippi State's top player, No. 43 Broska. Sandkaulen has won three of his last four matches including two ranked wins. The Rebels took a commanding 3-0 lead over the Bulldogs.
No. 12 Reynolds clinched the match for Ole Miss by defeating No. 47 Giovanni Oradini 6-2, 6-4. Reynolds' victory sealed the Rebels' sixth ranked win this season (third versus top-15 opponents). Reynolds and Sandkaulen won in both singles and doubles versus Mississippi State.
The Rebels and Bulldogs proceeded to play out the final three matches at Singles No. 4-6. John Hallquist Lithén earned his ninth singles win this season by claiming a third-set super tiebreak over Mississippi State's Alberto Colas. The Rebels relinquished Singles No. 5 and No. 6 to the Bulldogs in two highly-contested matches.

Ole Miss next faces Auburn on the road next Friday, April 2, at 2 p.m. CT. The Tigers are currently ranked No. 47 in the latest ITA poll (March 24).
