OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss (25-14, 8-7 SEC) dropped the series finale to South Carolina (20-15, 1-11 SEC) on Sunday, falling 10-1 in five innings at the Ole Miss Softball Complex.
Savannah Diederich was saddled with the loss, allowing three runs on three hits in 1.1 innings. Ava Tillmann tossed 1.2 frames in relief, allowing six runs, while Anna Borgen surrendered one run in two full innings of work.
The Gamecocks opened scoring in the second inning, with Riley Blampied launching a three-run home run to left center. Mackenzie Boesel followed with a two run double and Cayla Drotar dropped an RBI single to right, making it 6-0.
Kenzi Maguire tacked on two more in the fourth with a double to the gap in left center, while Kassidy Krupit shot a single up the middle, bringing in a ninth Gamecock run.
Abbey Latham got the Rebels on the board with a solo home run to center in the fourth, but it was too little too late as South Carolina got the run back in the fifth and finished out the game via the run rule.
