Men’s Tennis Ranked First, Women’s Tennis Third in ITA Southern Region

Rebels Men’s Tennis Places atop Overall, Singles and Doubles regional rankings
TEMPE, Ariz. – Ole Miss men's tennis was ranked first and women's tennis third in the ITA Southern Region as released by the ITA on Wednesday. The rankings released are the first and final regional rankings of the 2021 spring season.
Ole Miss men's tennis led the ITA Southern Region in overall ranking and had the No. 1 singles player and doubles team in 2021. The Rebels placed three student-athletes in the region's top 10, Finn Reynolds at No. 1, Nikola Slavic at No. 4 and Tim Sandkaulen at No. 8. Reynolds and Sandkaulen finished the 2021 season ranked No. 1 in both the overall Oracle/ITA doubles rankings and in the ITA Southern Region. Reynolds and Sandkaulen earned ITA All-American status in doubles for the second consecutive season and Reynolds was recognized as an ITA Singles All-American for the first time in his career. The Rebels finished the year ranked as the No. 14 overall team in the nation.
Ole Miss women's tennis placed third in the ITA Southern Region and had the No. 3 singles player and No. 3 doubles team in the region this season. Ole Miss finished behind LSU and Auburn, two teams the Rebels swept, 4-0, on the road. The Rebels earned four spots in the top-20 regional singles rankings with Sabina Machalova leading the way at No. 3, followed by Tiphanie Fiquet at No. 7, Tereza Janatova at No. 12 and Anna Vrbenska at No. 15. The Rebels claimed two spots in the top-10 regional doubles rankings with Alexa Bortles and Vrbenska at No. 3 followed by Bortles and Machalova at No. 6. Ole Miss concluded the 2021 season ranked No. 28 overall on the Oracle/ITA team leaderboard.
Ole Miss men's and women's tennis earned a combined record of 10-1 versus opponents in the ITA Southern Region in 2021.
