 THE COURSE

Playing at 6,168 total yards as a par 72, the University of Georgia Golf Course opened in 1968 with the purpose of supporting the university community and a collegiate golf program. Over its history, the UGA Golf Course hosted a number of different collegiate tournaments including the annual Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic, the Men's and Women's SEC Championships, Men's and Women's NCAA Regionals, as well as the women's collegiate national championships on five occasions - the 1971 Division of Girls' and Women's Sports (DGWS) Intercollegiate Championships, the 1981 Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) Championships and the 1983, 1993 and 2013 NCAA Championships.

 REBELS IN THE POLLS

The Rebels enter the 2022 spring season holding a No. 15 ranking in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, while sitting No. 24 as a team in the Golfstat Team Rankings. Individually, senior Julia Johnson leads the way for the Rebels in the rankings, holding the No. 13 spot in Golfstat's NCAA Women's Rankings while Chiara Tamburlini is ranked No. 74. Finding spots in the Golfweek/Sagarin Individual Rankings are Tamburlini (No. 49), Johnson (No. 65) and Andrea Lignell (No. 96).

LIGNELL AND TAMBURLINI CRACK TOP 5 AGAIN

Following the Rapsodo in the Desert, Rebel tandem Andrea Lignell and Chiara Tamburlini continued their hot 2021-22 season with third and tie for fifth place finishes, respectively. This is now the second-consecutive tournament in which Lignell and Tamburlini have wound up in the Top 5, as both did so in the team's fall season finale at the East Lake Cup (Lignell - T2nd; Tamburlini - T4th).

VARYING DEBUTS FOR REBELS IN GEORGIA

The Lady Bulldog Individual will mark an opportunity for two Rebels to get their first taste of action in the 2021-22, as senior Ellen Hutchinson-Kay and freshman Maddie May will both make the trip to Athens. This marks the first tournament of Hutchinson-Kay's senior campaign as well as the 22nd tournament of her career. For May, this will be her first collegiate appearance for the Rebels after enrolling in January.
