No. 15 Men’s Tennis Readies for Road Test at No. 4 TCU Sunday

Rebels to Face Top-Five Horned Frogs at Noon CT
OXFORD, Miss. – No. 15 Ole Miss men's tennis (7-0, 0-0 SEC) travels to Texas to take on No. 4 TCU (5-1, 0-0 Big XII) at noon CT Sunday.
Ole Miss will be on the road for the first time this season. Ole Miss won its only match so far this season versus a ranked opponent, defeating No. 22 Oklahoma, 4-1, on Jan. 29.
Seven Straight
The undefeated Rebels started off the season with seven straight wins. Ole Miss has won seven consecutive duals to start the spring for the first time since 2007. The Rebels recently defeated Alcorn State on Wednesday, 7-0 and 4-0, in doubleheader action. Ole Miss won twice at home during ITA Kickoff Weekend last weekend to qualify for the ITA National Indoor Championships.
Up the Ranks
Ole Miss improved in the ITA National Team Rankings three positions this week. The No. 15 Rebels began the season ranked No. 18 for the first three weeks of the spring. The Rebels received the No. 14 seed in the ITA Kickoff draw, equaling their end ranking position from the 2021 season.
Soaring Slavic
Ole Miss junior Nikola Slavic was named the SEC Player of the Week on Wednesday after he secured two important victories versus top-40 ranked opponents in the Rebels' ITA Kickoff wins. Slavic, ranked No. 28 in the ITA individual rankings, affirmed his role at the No. 1 singles position for Ole Miss by earning two more dominant victories versus Alcorn State on Wednesday.
Scouting the Horned Frogs
No. 4 TCU advanced through ITA Kickoff Weekend at home with two 4-0 sweeps versus Portland on Jan. 29 and Tulsa on Jan. 30. The Horned Frogs earned a dramatic 4-3 upset in the beginning of the season versus No. 1 Florida, 4-3, on Jan. 14. TCU fell to the current No. 1 ranked program, Tennessee, 4-3 on Jan. 16.
The Horned Frogs feature four ranked singles players and two ranked doubles teams. Graduate transfer and former Texas A&M Aggie Juan Carlos Aguilar leads individual players with a No. 19 singles ranking. He is followed by No. 33 Lui Maxted, No. 69 Luc Fomba and No. 76 Jacob Fearnley. Maxted and Pedro Vives Marcos rank No. 4 in doubles.
TCU has dominated doubles duals this season with a 12-2 record. The Horned Frogs are 19-9 in singles.
