Jackson Suber Rises to No. 1 Ranking in the Nation

Suber Becomes Second Top-Ranked Rebel in Program History
OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss men's golf's Jackson Suber's success on the course has paid off, as the Tampa, Florida, native has become just the second Rebel in program history to earn the No. 1 ranking in the nation in Golfstat's NCAA Player Rankings.
Holding an adjusted scoring average of 68.91, Suber climbed from his previous No. 3 ranking by Golfstat to hold the No. 1 spot in the country heading into the team's spring season-opener at the Puerto Rico Classic (Feb. 13-15).
Suber is now just the second Rebel men's golfer ever to hold the No. 1 ranking in the nation, with 2017 NCAA National Champion Braden Thornberry being the only other Ole Miss men's golfer to claim the ranking in his career.
The senior is coming off of a strong fall showing, where he won his third career individual tournament title at the White Sands Bahamas Invitational, firing a 205 (-11) to claim the crown. He wrapped up the fall with an additional top 10 finish at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational, finishing tied for sixth overall.
With a stroke average of 69.17 over the team's three tournaments, Suber is currently on pace to set a new Ole Miss record for lowest single season stroke average, with the current record belonging to Thornberry's 2016-17 season where he tallied a 69.57 stroke average.
Besides Suber's new No. 1 Golfstat ranking, Suber also holds No. 4 and No. 7 overall rankings in the Golfweek/Sagarin Men's Collegiate Individual Rankings and the PGA TOUR University Velocity Global Rankings.
Suber's 2020-21 junior campaign led him to become the 11th All-American in program history, as he was named a PING All-American Honorable Mention by the Golf Coaches Association of American. He also racked up additional honors at the season's conclusion, bringing in First Team All-SEC and PING Southeast All-Region accolades.
