Rebels to Battle in Two-Day, 54-Hole Event at Forest Hills Golf Club
AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Ole Miss women's golf team will travel to Augusta, Georgia this weekend, as the Rebels are set to take part in the 2022 Valspar Augusta Invitational, at Forest Hills Golf Club.
The tournament will consist of 54 total holes of stroke play taking place March 12-13, with five of Golfstat's Top 25 teams appearing in the event, including the Rebels.

THE COURSE |
Playing at 6,244 yards as a par 72, Augusta University's Forest Hills Golf Club is a much loved staple within the Augusta, Georgia golf community. The course was originally designed by world renowned course architect Donald Ross, before being later renovated by the Arnold Palmer Company in 2003. Forest Hills is home to the Men's and Women's Augusta Jaguars Golf Teams, and also plays host to the annual 3M Augusta Invitational, which has featured players including Phil Mickelson, Davis Love III, Dustin Johnson, Justin Leonard, and Charles Howell III.
OLE MISS REMAINS NO. 25 IN LATEST GOLFSTAT RANKINGS |
Following the team's sixth place finish at the VyStar Gators Invitational, the Rebels saw themselves maintain their No. 25 spot in the latest Golfstat NCAA Team Rankings. The Rebels also stayed put in the newest edition of the Golfweek/Sagarin Women's Team Collegiate Rankings from the week prior, as Ole Miss currently holds the No. 22 spot in the nation.

Leading the way for the Rebels in the individual polls for the week is Chiara Tamburlini, who now has climbed into the No. 36 spot in the nation in Golfstat's NCAA Player Rankings, while also holding a No. 39 ranking in the Golfweek/Sagarin Women's Collegiate Individual Rankings. Further down the board for Ole Miss sits Andrea Lignell, as the junior now holds a No. 68 ranking by Golfweek/Sagarin. Lignell also slots into the No. 100 spot in the nation according to Golfstat.
LIGNELL EARNS ANOTHER TOP 5 FINISH AT GATORS INVITE |
Following a weekend where she logged a season-low 54-hole score of 212 (+2), junior Andrea Lignell was able to capture yet another top 5 finish at the VyStar Gators Invitational in Gainesville, Florida, finishing tied for fourth overall. This marks the third time of Lignell's collegiate career in which she has finished in the top 5, with all three of her top 5 appearances coming during the 2021-22 season. Lignell's other two top 5 finishes on the year came at the East Lake Cup (T-2nd) and the Rapsodo in the Desert (3rd).
REBELS LAND TRANSFER ISABELLA FIERRO FOR 2022-23 |
The Ole Miss women's golf team has officially added Oklahoma State transfer Isabella Fierro to the 2022-23 roster, as announced by head coach Kory Henkes on Wednesday. A three-year letterwinner with the Cowgirls, Fierro earned third team All-America honors from Golfweek following her sophomore campaign in 2020. She also garnered honorable mention All-America accolades from the WGCA in 2021 and 2020. The Ciudad del Carmen, Mexico, native is currently ranked as the No. 41 amateur golfer in the world according to the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR). Fierro checks in at the No. 50 collegiate golfer in the nation according to Golfstat, while also slotting into the No. 57 spot nationally in the Golfweek/Sagarin Individual Collegiate Rankings.
