OXFORD, Miss. – No. 52 Ole Miss women's tennis (6-4, 0-0 SEC) is set to play at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center for the first time this season, hosting LSU (1-6, 0-2 SEC) at 2 p.m. CT on Friday prior to facing No. 11 Texas A&M (16-1, 2-0 SEC) at 1 p.m. CT on Sunday.

Ole Miss readies to play in front of the home fans outdoors for the first time this season. There will be two fun promotions this weekend for fans in attendance: Stranger Things Night on Friday featuring an Eggo Waffle Giveaway and an "Enter to Win" on Sunday with a chance to win a television as well as a blanket giveaway.

The Rebels' match versus the Tigers has been moved up by one hour from its originally scheduled time of 3 p.m. to 2 p.m. CT due to weather concerns on Friday evening.

Tough Tests Early

The Rebels fell twice against higher-ranked opponents last weekend on the road to begin SEC dual play. Ole Miss fell 7-0 to No. 36 Georgia last Friday, and 5-2 at No. 23 Tennessee last Sunday. The Rebels won at No. 1 and No. 2 Singles versus the Volunteers, earning individual victories against two top-40 ITA ranked players.

Individuals in the ITA's

The Rebels fell from No. 46 to No. 52 in the ITA Team Rankings. Two singles players placed individually, with Sabina Machalova improving to No. 79 and Anaëlle Leclercq-Ficher earning her first career ranking at No. 110.

The Take on the Tigers

LSU has had a slow start to 2022, winning just one of seven duals. The Tigers earned their sole victory, 4-2, over Southern on Feb. 25. LSU surrendered two 6-1 defeats last weekend at home versus No. 13 Florida and against South Carolina. The Tigers are 0-4 versus ranked opponents.

Ena Babic is the only Tiger to rank individually, placing No. 89 in the ITA Singles Rankings.

Time to Gig 'Em

Texas A&M has succeeded expectations thus far this season, earning a 16-1 overall record. The Aggies are riding a seven-match win streak including defeating South Carolina, 6-1, and No. 13 Florida, 5-2, last weekend. Their sole loss this year occurred versus No. 4 California, 4-3, at ITA National Team Indoor Championships on Feb. 11. The Aggies are 3-1 versus ranked opponents this season.

The No. 11 Aggies feature three ranked singles players and two ranked teams in the national leaderboard. Tatiana Makarova leads Texas A&M at No. 37, followed by Carson Branstine at No. 41 and Mary Stoiana. Makarova ranks No. 3 in the country in doubles alongside Jayci Goldsmith, and Branstine and Soiana rank No. 27 when paired together (8-0 this season).
