Kye Meeks Named SEC Men's Golf Freshman of the Week

Recognition Comes Following Multiple Career-Bests for Meeks at the Cabo Collegiate
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Ole Miss redshirt-freshman Kye Meeks was recognized as the SEC Men's Freshman Golfer of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.
The honor follows a week that saw Meeks earn career-best marks across the board at the 2022 Cabo Collegiate Invitational in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, with the Walnut, Mississippi, native finishing a career-high 31st overall. This marked the seventh-best finish of all freshmen in the field at the Cabo Collegiate.
Tallying a total of 13 birdies on the week, Meeks earned career-low 18-hole (68) and 54-hole (210) totals over the tournament. The former two-time Mississippi high school state champion has now logged career-best 18-hole and 54-hole scores in back-to-back tournaments for the Rebels, after logging a round of 69 and three-day score of 216 at the Puerto Rico Classic two weeks prior.
Meeks' tournament would end with him out-performing six golfers ranked in Golfstat's Top 100, four of which were ranked in Golfstat's Top 25.
Meeks and the Rebels return to action March 14-15 for the Louisiana Classic in Lafayette, Louisiana.
