Women’s Golf Begins Postseason Play at 2022 SEC Championship

Rebels Enter SEC Championship Ranked No. 23
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The 23rd-ranked Ole Miss women's golf team is set to open the team's postseason schedule with the SEC Championship in Birmingham, Alabama, which will take place April 13-17.
The Rebels will battle the thirteen other schools from the Southeastern Conference at Greystone Golf and Country Club, which has hosted the conference championship since 2013.
Three rounds of stroke play will open tournament play, before cutting the field down to the top eight teams for match play beginning Saturday. The final round on Sunday will be televised live on SEC Network.

Ole Miss is coming off of a 2021 season that saw the Rebels eliminated in the match play quarterfinals of the SEC Championship. Finishing as the No. 2 seed in the conference, the Rebels would fall to Mississippi State 3-2 in the opening round of match play. The Rebels will look to model their success at the 2019 SEC Championship, where the team took home the first team title in program history.
The Rebels enter the conference tournament season ranked as the No. 23 team in the nation according to Golfstat, while also holding a team ranking of 22nd in the latest Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings. Individually, Chiara Tamburlini has risen to hold the No. 21 and No. 26 spots in the Golfstat and Golfweek/Sagarin NCAA Individual Rankings. Andrea Lignell also resides in the top 100 of both polls for the Rebels, ranking at No. 60 and No. 61 by Golfstat and Golfweek/Sagarin, respectively.
