Men’s Tennis Ends Regular Season with Arkansas Friday, Senior Day Versus Vandy Sunday

OXFORD, Miss. – No. 36 Ole Miss men's tennis (14-11, 2-8 SEC) hosts No. 44 Arkansas (14-11, 3-7 SEC) on Friday at 3 p.m. CT prior to concluding the regular season versus No. 50 Vanderbilt (14-9, 2-8 SEC) at 1 p.m. CT on Sunday. The Rebels will celebrate the careers of Finn Reynolds and Jan Soren Hain for Senior Day versus Vanderbilt.

The No. 36 Ole Miss Rebels turn their attention towards two lower-ranked SEC opponents this weekend, No. 44 Arkansas and No. 50 Vanderbilt. The Rebels have earned three wins versus ranked teams in 2022, with all ranked victories occurring against top-50 ITA programs.

Plus .500 Secured

The Rebels guaranteed a positive win-loss record for the 2022 regular season by defeating Tennessee State twice on Wednesday on the road. The Rebels defeated the Tigers in both matches 4-0, 4-0. Ole Miss has defeated Tennessee four times this season, earning four wins via the sweep. A positive win-loss record is needed to qualify for the NCAA Team Championships.

The Rebels moved back one spot to No. 26 in the ITA Team Rankings. Top singles player Nikola Slavic moved up four spots in this weeks' rankings to No. 28. No. 1 Doubles tandem Lukas Engelhardt and Finn Reynolds stayed put at No. 17 in the national rankings released on Wednesday.

Pigs on the Loose

The Razorbacks have won 14 of 25 matchups this season, but have won just three of 10 in SEC play. Arkansas is also 1-6 on the road this season. The Razorbacks have won four straight matches, defeating Alabama, Mississippi State and Saint Louis twice.

Arkansas features two top-100 ranked singles players, No. 58 Alexandre Reco and No. 96 Aleksa Bucan.

Anchor Management

Vanderbilt has lost three straight matches, falling at South Carolina, Florida and home versus Tennessee. The Commodores are 1-4 on the road in 2022.

The Commodores are led in singles by No. 31 ranked George Harwell. Joubert Klopper also features in the ITA Rankings at No. 88. Klopper has earned a 27-9 record this season. Vanderbilt's top doubles duo of Michael Ross and Siim Troost rank No. 67 nationally.

A FINNtastic Career

Reynolds has competed for five seasons at Ole Miss from Spring 2018 to 2022. He has earned over 100 victories in his Ole Miss career. Reynolds is a three-time ITA All-American and reached No. 1 in the ITA Doubles Rankings in 2021. He has competed in the NCAA Team, Singles and Doubles Championships. He is a three-time ITA Scholar Athlete.

Ballin' Jan Soren

Jan Soren Hain has competed for the Rebels for four seasons from Fall 2018 through this year. He has earned over 30 victories in both singles and doubles in his collegiate career. He peaked in the ITA Singles Rankings at No. 104 in 2022. Hain is a two-time ITA Scholar Athlete and one-time SEC player of the week. He was a member for two Ole Miss teams to reach the NCAA Team Championships in 2019 and 2021.
