Women’s Tennis Travels to Two Tournaments

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. / STARKVILLE, Miss. – Ole Miss women's tennis will split in half as they head to two fall tournaments. Four Rebels compete in the Roberta Alison Invitational, and four are set to play in the John Cade Classic.
 
The Roberta Alison Invitational is hosted by Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Briana Crowley, Lucie Devier, Ava Hrastar, and Rachel Krzyzak will compete in singles and doubles brackets.
 
The John Cade Classic is hosted by Mississippi State in Starkville, Miss. Emma Kette, Kelsey Mize, Andrea Nova, and Reka Zadori will represent the Navy and Red in singles and doubles competitions. Nova and Kette are in the Maroon singles bracket, while Mize and Zadori are in the White singles bracket. The Rebels' doubles pairings are Mize/Nova and Kette/Zadori.
 
Ole Miss women's tennis team will compete in the tournaments from October 27-29. On Friday, the first two round of doubles will start at 9 a.m. followed by the quarterfinals. The first round of singles will begin at 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. in Starkville.
  
Doubles will be one set to six, while singles will be two out of three complete sets (like a dual match) with a super tiebreaker as the third set. 
 
THE REBELS
Briana Crowley (Sr.) – Battle Ground, Ind.
- Began year 3-0 in doubles at the June Stewart Invitational
- Joins the Rebels after three seasons at Northwestern
- Compiled a career singles record of 35-21 and a doubles record of 46-28
- Ranked as high as No. 40 in doubles
- Former Blue Chip five-star recruit
  
 Lucie Devier (Sr.) – Etrechy, France
- Returns to Ole Miss after missing all last season
- Transferred from North Texas in 2022
- Earned 2021 C-USA Newcomer of the Year
  
 Ava Hrastar (Sr.) – Duluth, Ga.
- Advanced to the singles quarterfinals at the ITA South Region Championships
- Began year 3-0 in doubles at the June Stewart Invitational
- Ranked as high as No. 6 in doubles and No. 65 in singles
- Two-time NCAA Doubles Championship qualifier
- 2022 All-American and All-ACC Third Team honors
- Former five-star recruit, ranked 1st out of Georgia and 18th nationally
   
Emma Kette (So.) – Rammelsbach, Germany
- Earned a singles victory in qualifying in ITF W15 Jackson
- Finished 2023 with a 12-10 singles record and 11-9 doubles record
- Appeared in all 24 matches in the spring
 
Rachel Krzyzak (Jr.) – Milton, Ontario, Canada
- Went 2-1 in singles at the June Stewart Invitational
- Appeared in all 13 conference matches in 2023
- Career singles record of 25-24 and a doubles record of 20-28 
 
Kelsey Mize (Sr.) – Tulsa, Okla.
- Finished 2023 ranked No. 78 in doubles
- Tied the team lead in doubles victories in 2023
- Has 23 career singles wins and 39 career doubles wins
 
Andrea Nova (Fr.) – Prague, Czechia
- Compiled a 3-0 singles record at the June Stewart Invitational
- Comes to Ole Miss ranked as high as No. 298 in the ITF Junior Rankings
 
Reka Zadori (Sr.) – Szeged, Hungary
- Set a career-high 22 singles wins, along with nine doubles victories
- Has a 48-36 career singles record and a 22-18 career doubles record
- Her 9-3 record at No. 6 singles was the best in the SEC

Live scoring will not be available for the Roberta Alison Invitational; however, results will be posted after matches. The outside front courts will be live-streamed through Track.Tennis.
 
The John Cade Classic will have live scoring and video available. Final results will also be posted on the tournament page. All links are provided above and on our schedule page.

BEEN HERE BEFORE
The Rebels are set to compete in the Roberta Alison Invitational for the 11 times in 12 seasons, only missing 2020 when Alabama hosted the SEC Challenge.
 
It will mark the second time the team will participate in the John Cade Classical in the tournament's third installment. 
 
MILEMARKER
After notching a singles win at the June Stewart Invitational, Zadori is one singles win away from 50 in her career. The win would also move her into 37th place on Ole Miss' all-time career singles wins list with Florencia Basile.
 
ALL-AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Rebels sent a singles player and a doubles team to All-Americans, playing in the qualifying round. In singles, Kareisová faced No. 71 Annabelle Xu and No. 57 Maria Sholokhova. Ava and Briana lost their first match but bounced back to win one in the consolation bracket, moving to 4-1 on the season.
 
JUNE STEWART INVITATIONAL
After a long summer break, the women's tennis team was back in action last week. Ole Miss compiled 10 total doubles and eight singles wins through three days. Kareisová accounted for one of the singles wins and two of those doubles wins. Hrastar and Crowley excelled, going 3-0 as a doubles team. Freshman Andrea Nova handily defeated all three of her opponents to begin her collegiate career.
 
FALL SLATE
Ole Miss is nearing the end of their fall tournament schedule. The Rebels attend the Roberta Alison Invitational and the John Cade Classic from October 27-29. Then, wrapping up the fall, some Rebels will head to the Auburn Fall Invite, while others will compete at the NC State Invite from November 3-5.
