10/28/2023 | Women's Basketball
OXFORD, Miss. – Anticipation is in the air as less than two weeks remain until Ole Miss women's basketball begins its 2023-24 campaign, yet before the No. 12/16 Rebels begin regular season play Rust College awaits in their lone exhibition on Sunday. Tipoff against the Bearcats is slated for 3 p.m. CT, with free admission for all fans.
Ole Miss begins the season with lofty expectations, coming off an NCAA Tournament run to the Sweet 16 and starts the season ranked for the first time since 1995, coming in at No. 12 in the AP and No. 16 in the USA Today Coaches Poll. Returning seven members from last year's team, the Rebels added eight in the off-season with three Power Five transfers and five freshmen for a roster comprised of veteran experience as well as youth.
Head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin once again made waves in the transfer portal, bringing in KK Deans from Florida, Kharyssa Richardson from Auburn and Kennedy Todd-Williams from North Carolina to add even more depth to a roster which returns 65.1% of its scoring and 76.8% of rebounding from last season.
The matchup against NAIA Rust College provides the Rebels a tune-up opportunity prior to its regular season opener against Queens on Nov. 6 at 11 a.m. Ole Miss welcomes the Royals for its annual Kids Day game, streaming on SEC Network +. An early season test awaits on Nov. 9, as Ole Miss hosts Oklahoma in a preview of a future conference matchup against the Sooners at 6 p.m. from the SJB Pavilion.
Season tickets for the 2023-24 season are on sale now at OleMissTix.com, as well as single-game tickets versus the Sooners for $5 each.
