Vaught Locked: Ole Miss Football Flourishing at Home
11/20/2023 | Football
OXFORD, Miss. – For the second time in three years, Lane Kiffin's Ole Miss football team finished undefeated at home, a perfect 7-0 record that came in front of some of the biggest crowds in program history.
For the 2023 season, 446,044 fans filed into Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, just shy of the facility record of 454,368 set in 2016.
The impressive end-of-season figure comes as no surprise. Ole Miss set its single-game attendance record at 66,703 for a 55-49 win over LSU. The Rebel student crowd set new top attendance marks as well, the largest incoming freshman class in university history helping to pack the north end zone at a record pace.
Ole Miss is 21-2 over its last 23 games on Hollingsworth Field, including perfect records in both 2021 and 2023.
As the wins have increased, so too has the intensity on gamedays in Oxford. The Grove has long been a bucket-list tailgating destination for college football fans, and in 2023, Vaught-Hemingway has become more of an in-game destination than ever.
Ole Miss made headlines and went viral on social media throughout the year for its fourth-quarter fireworks and drone shows, national anthem musical guests, military appreciation promotions and more.
Of course, a flawless record at home always helps to keep the vibes high in the stadium, and it has helped Kiffin's Rebels race out to a 9-2 record, their only defeats thus far coming on the road at No. 8 Alabama and No. 1 Georgia. Ole Miss closes its regular season in the Egg Bowl on the road at Mississippi State this Thursday.
Following the Egg Bowl, the Rebels will await their postseason bowl destination. Selection Sunday is on Dec. 3. Bowl ticket sales information will be sent to all Ole Miss football season ticket holders following the announcement.

It's great to see a college football program show support for the troops. More people in America need to be reminded why the USA is awesome!
