Maggie Miller Named To SEC Volleyball Community Service Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Leading by example on and off the court, Ole Miss senior Maggie Miller has been named to the SEC Community Service Team, announced by the conference office.
In a continuing effort to recognize the accomplishments of student-athletes beyond the field of competition, the Southeastern Conference is once again highlighting a panel of athletes for its annual Community Service Team. All league-sponsored sports have had a Community Service Team since 2004.
In August, Miller and her teammates spent the morning at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis, participating in the state-of-the-art Seacrest Studio, where they hosted live broadcast entertainment for patients. The senior also had the opportunity to meet and play with patients, sharing their love for the game of volleyball.
Again, during the 2023 season, she spent an evening volunteering with Oxford's More Than a Meal. Miller and volleyball team helped serve a warm meal and provide community to those in need.
The defensive specialist also helps lead the charge on Ole Miss' annual Feed the Sip food drive, collecting over 7,000 non-perishable food items to donate to children in Tunica and Quitman County. Miller has helped Ole Miss donate non-perishable food items, along with hygiene materials to those who lost their homes and supplies during the tornadoes in the Rolling Fork, Mississippi area last spring.
In the Oxford-Lafayette community, Miller has given back to children through initiatives such as Reading with the Rebels, visiting elementary school classrooms to read to students and discuss her experiences as a student-athlete, Ole Miss' annual Trunk or Treat and Books and Bears, where she helps collect books and toy donations during the Christmas holiday. She also helped welcome students to school, participating in morning drop-off with her teammates, and celebrated educators through the College Football Playoff's Extra Yard for Teachers initiative.
Described by her coaches and teammates as someone who completely embodies what it means to be an Ole Miss Rebel, Miller has spent the last five seasons passing in the back row. Appearing in nearly 350 sets across 97 matches, the Houston, Texas, native averaged 1.52 digs per set in her career, and tallied her 500th career dig this season against LSU.
