OXFORD, Miss. – The 2024 Major League Baseball season is just a few weeks away from coming to a close and all of our former Rebels have completed their seasons. It is time to take a look back at how each player performed in 2024.
Lance Lynn | Pitcher | St. Louis Cardinals
Record: 7-4 ERA: 3.84 G: 23 GS: 23 SV: 0 IP: 117.1 K: 109 BB: 44
Lynn wrapped up what was his 13th Major League season in 2024 with a true return to form back in St. Louis for the first time since 2017. He started 23 games for the Cardinals, posting a record of 7-4 and an ERA of 3.84, his lowest since 2021. He gave up the fewest earned runs among Cardinals starters and was tied for second in starters ERA. Lynn recorded his 2,000th career strikeout on July 23 against the Pirates and is currently ranked 84th all-time in career strikeouts with 2,015.

James McArthur | Pitcher | Kansas City Royals
Record: 5-7 ERA: 4.92 G: 57 GS: 0 SV: 18 IP: 56.2 K: 49 BB: 14
McArthur played his first full season at the Major League level, pitching in a career-high 57 games for the Royals. He was the team’s primary closer for most of the season, picking up 18 saves and 49 strikeouts. McArthur posted a 1.80 ERA and held opponents to just a .188 average during the month of June.
Nick Fortes | Catcher | Miami Marlins
AVG: .227 AB: 308 H: 70 R: 28 2B: 16 3B: 0 HR: 4 RBI: 29 BB: 11 SB: 0 OPS: .619
Fortes set career-highs in games played, at-bats, hits, total bases, doubles, and RBI in his fourth Major League season with the Marlins. He started 99 games behind the plate for Miami as their primary backstop. Fortes finished the season tied for second in the National League in caught stealings, throwing out 26 runners on the basepaths. He hit .359 with four doubles in the month of July.
Jacob Waguespack | Pitcher | Tampa Bay Rays
Record: 0-0 ERA: 5.40 G: 4 GS: 1 SV: 0 IP: 10.0 K: 11 BB: 10
Waguespack made the Opening Day roster with the Rays and pitched in four games before being sidelined for most of the season with rotator cuff inflammation. He was sent on a rehab assignment with the Durham Bulls on September 6 where he worked eight innings over six outings and allowed just two runs.
Grae Kessinger | Infielder | Sugar Land Space Cowboys (Houston)
AVG: .262 AB: 263 H: 69 R: 46 2B: 13 3B: 1 HR: 6 RBI: 22 BB: 30 SB: 7 OPS: .725
Kessinger made the Opening Day roster with the Houston Astros and was a part of their 2024 NLDS roster, but spent most of the season with the Triple-A Space Cowboys. He hit .286 with 30 runs scored in the month of June for Sugar Land. Kessinger also made his Major League pitching debut on April 11, throwing a scoreless eighth in a blowout loss for the Astros.
Doug Nikhazy | Pitcher | Columbus Clippers (Cleveland)
Record: 7-4 ERA: 2.98 G: 25 GS: 24 SV: 0 IP: 123.2 K: 124 BB: 53
Nikhazy put together a career year in 2024, posting a record of 7-4 with a sub-3.00 ERA over two levels of Minor League Baseball. He began the season with Double-A Akron where he put together a 3.17 ERA with 49 strikeouts over 11 starts. Nikhazy was promoted to Triple-A Columbus on June 24 and was even better with the Clippers. He went 7-3 with a 2.87 ERA and 75 punchouts over 14 games. In his first start at the Triple-A level, Nikhazy threw a seven-inning complete game shutout allowing just two hits and five total baserunners against Omaha.

Tim Elko | Infielder | Charlotte Knights (Chicago AL)
AVG: .289 AB: 540 H: 156 R: 67 2B: 23 3B: 2 HR: 18 RBI: 73 BB: 42 SB: 3 OPS: .785
Elko opened the season with Double-A Birmingham where he hit .289 with nine home runs, 16 doubles, and 40 RBI across 91 games. He was then promoted to Triple-A Charlotte on July 30 where he also hit. 289 with nine home runs and had 33 RBI in 48 games. Elko opened his Triple-A career with at least one hit in 15 of his first 16 games and finished hitting .304 in the month of September. Elko is currently with the Glendale Desert Dogs in the Arizona Fall League.

Gunnar Hoglund | Pitcher | Las Vegas Aviators (Oakland)
Record: 9-7 ERA: 3.44 G: 24 GS: 23 SV: 0 IP: 130.2 K: 119 BB: 37
Hoglund more than doubled his career-high in innings pitched, working 130+ over two levels of baseball. 104.2 innings came with Double-A Midland where he posted a 2.84 ERA and a 9-4 record. Hoglund was promoted to Triple-A Las Vegas on July 30 and started five games for the Aviators before being shut down for the season.
Ryan Rolison | Pitcher | Albuquerque Isotopes (Colorado)
Record: 2-3 ERA: 4.47 G: 29 GS: 5 SV: 0 IP: 46.1 K: 35 BB: 15
Rolison worked back from injury during the 2024 season, pitching more than 11 innings for the first time since 2021. He opened the season on the 60-day injured list and after two rehab stints in May and June was activated by the Isotopes on June 20. Rolison worked primarily out of the bullpen, appearing in 23 games for Albuquerque.
Anthony Servideo | Infielder | Bowie Baysox (Baltimore)
AVG: .166 AB: 374 H: 62 R: 61 2B: 11 3B: 1 HR: 8 RBI: 31 BB: 58 SB: 13 OPS: .548
Servideo played 83 games with Double-A Bowie and 34 games with Triple-A Norfolk during the 2024 season. He consistently played shortstop and third base, but also spent time at second base and played one game in center field.
Kevin Graham | Outfielder | Amarillo Sod Poodles (Arizona)
AVG: .213 AB: 310 H: 66 R: 44 2B: 16 3B: 2 HR: 5 RBI: 31 BB: 32 SB: 6 OPS: .618
Graham spent his entire 2024 season with Double-A Amarillo, playing in 94 games for the Sod Poodles. He played primarily in left field, but also made appearances in right field, designated hitter, first base, and even pitched an inning in a blowout loss on June 7. Graham hit .389 with six doubles, 10 RBI, and 13 runs scored in the month of April.
Houston Roth | Pitcher | Bowie Baysox (Baltimore)
Record: 2-5 ERA: 3.57 G: 36 GS: 0 SV: 3 IP: 53.0 K: 73 BB: 24
Roth posted a career-low 3.57 ERA in 36 appearances at both the High-A and Double-A levels. He spent most of his time at Double-A where he worked to the tune of a 3.35 ERA with 65 strikeouts and three saves over 48.1 innings. Roth is currently with the Surprise Saguaros in the Arizona Fall League.
Cooper Johnson | Catcher | Frisco RoughRiders (Texas)
AVG: .235 AB: 251 H: 59 R: 40 2B: 18 3B: 0 HR: 14 RBI: 46 BB: 44 SB: 0 OPS: .829
Johnson had the best season of his professional career, playing in 79 games for the Double-A Frisco RoughRiders. He set career-highs in games played, batting average, RBI, home runs, hits, and runs scored. Johnson started 75 games behind the plate for Frisco and four at designated hitter.
Brandon Johnson | Pitcher | Northwest Arkansas (Kansas City)
Record: 3-4 ERA: 4.23 G: 45 GS: 0 SV: 3 IP: 55.1 K: 78 BB: 23
Johnson opened the season with High-A Quad Cities where he struck out 36 batters and made two saves over 24 innings. He was promoted to Double-A Northwest Arkansas on June 11 where he made 27 appearances, striking out 42 hitters over 31.1 innings. Johnson is currently with the Surprise Saguaros in the Arizona Fall League.
Jacob Gonzalez | Infielder | Birmingham Barons (Chicago AL)
AVG: .238 AB: 508 H: 121 R: 58 2B: 27 3B: 1 HR: 8 RBI: 57 BB: 47 SB: 17 OPS: .650
Gonzalez completed his first full professional season in 2024, playing in 130 games across two levels. He opened the season with High-A Winston-Salem where he hit .273 with seven doubles and 18 runs scored over 36 games. He was promoted to Double-A Birmingham on May 21 where he played in 94 games, primarily at shortstop. Gonzalez hit 20 doubles and drove in 42 runs with the Barons.
Kemp Alderman | Outfielder | Pensacola Blue Wahoos (Miami)
AVG: .242 AB: 289 H: 70 R: 33 2B: 15 3B: 2 HR: 8 RBI: 46 BB: 27 SB: 5 OPS: .697
Alderman opened the season on the injured list and then worked his way through three levels in his first full professional season. After a rehab stint in the Florida Complex League, he started with Single-A Jupiter where he hit .270 with five home runs and 30 RBI in 33 games. Alderman was named the Florida State League Player of the Month for the month of July after he hit .293 with five home runs and 25 RBI. He was promoted to High-A Beloit on August 2 where he hit .240 with five doubles and 12 runs scored before being promoted to Double-A Pensacola on September 10. Alderman is currently with the Peoria Javelinas in the Arizona Fall League.
Kemp Alderman homered five times in his first four Arizona Fall League games and might have the most raw power of anyone in the desert.

Dylan DeLucia | Pitcher | Lake County Captains (Cleveland)
Record: 0-3 ERA: 2.55 G: 13 GS: 13 SV: 0 IP: 49.1 K: 52 BB: 12
DeLucia began his recovery from elbow surgery on June 21 with a rehab assignment to the Arizona Complex League. He pitched in his first professional game on July 4 with Single-A Lynchburg where he made three starts before being promoted to High-A Lake County on July 22. With the Captains, DeLucia posted a 2.52 ERA and 39 strikeouts over eight starts. He is currently with the Surprise Saguaros in the Arizona Fall League.

Calvin Harris | Catcher | Winston-Salem Dash (Chicago AL)
AVG: .220 AB: 254 H: 56 R: 31 2B: 11 3B: 2 HR: 2 RBI: 23 BB: 28 SB: 0 OPS: .605
Harris spent his entire first full season with High-A Winston-Salem, playing in 68 games for the Dash. He started behind the plate in 63 games and at designated hitter in the other five. Harris scored 31 runs and drove in 23 for the Dash.
Drew McDaniel | Pitcher | Winston-Salem Dash (Chicago AL)
Record: 6-4 ERA: 4.13 G: 12 GS: 12 SV: 0 IP: 61.0 K: 65 BB: 18
McDaniel opened the season with Single-A Kannapolis where he started seven games to the tune of a 4-1 record and a 1.82 ERA with 49 strikeouts. He was named the Carolina League Pitcher of the Week on May 26 after striking out 11 batters over seven, two-hit innings against Augusta. He was promoted to High-A Winston-Salem on May 23 where he only made five starts before hitting the injured list in July.
Derek Diamond | Pitcher | Greensboro Grasshoppers (Pittsburgh)
Record: 5-6 ERA: 4.80 G: 23 GS: 19 SV: 0 IP: 95.2 K: 83 BB: 19
Diamond spent the entire 2024 season with High-A Greensboro, appearing in 23 games and making 19 starts for the Grasshoppers. He struck out 83 batters over 95.2 innings and issued just 19 walks during that time. Diamond is currently with the Scottsdale Scorpions in the Arizona Fall League.
Ethan Lege | Infielder | Bradenton Marauders (Pittsburgh)
AVG: .204 AB: 54 H: 11 R: 4 2B: 0 3B: 0 HR: 0 RBI: 3 BB: 3 SB: 0 OPS: .605
After being drafted in the 15th round of the 2024 MLB Draft, Lege played in 15 games with Single-A Bradenton before the season ended. He got his first career hit on August 18 against Dunedin.
Cole Tolbert | Pitcher | Salem Red Sox (Boston)
Record: 0-1 ERA: 5.56 G: 5 GS: 3 SV: 0 IP: 11.1 K: 14 BB: 6
Tolbert was drafted in the 18th round of the 2024 MLB Draft by the Boston Red Sox and went on to make five appearances for Single-A Salem. He struck out five batters in his debut on August 9 against Delmarva.
Kyler Carmack | Pitcher | Clearwater Threshers (Philadelphia)
Record: 0-0 ERA: 9.82 G: 3 GS: 0 SV: 0 IP: 3.2 K: 5 BB: 4
Carmack was drafted in the 20th round of the 2024 MLB Draft by the Philadelphia Phillies and went on to make three appearances for the Single-A Clearwater Threshers. He pitched a clean inning in his debut on August 21 against Dunedin.
Jack Dougherty | Pitcher | Fort Myers Mighty Mussels (Minnesota)
Record: 0-0 ERA: 0.00 G: 0 GS: 0 SV: 0 IP: 0 K: 0 BB: 0
Dougherty was placed on the injured list on April 5 with a right shoulder impingement and did not pitch all season.
Taylor Broadway | Pitcher | Portland Sea Dogs (Boston)
Record: 0-0 ERA: 0.00 G: 0 GS: 0 SV: 0 IP: 0 K: 0 BB: 0
Broadway was placed on the injured list on March 20 and did not pitch all season.
