Jordan Watkins Shatters Record Books in Win at Arkansas
11/2/2024 | Football
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – It was a record-setting day for quarterback Jaxson Dart, and for receiver Jordan Watkins as Ole Miss blew out Arkansas 63-31.
Watkins raced past the Razorbacks defense to set school records with 254 receiving yards and five receiving touchdowns, all on just eight catches.
This marked just the 12th 250-yard receiving performance in SEC history, and the fourth on single-digit receptions, and Watkins' five TD receptions tied the conference's single-game record, shared with five others.
Watkins broke Ole Miss' single-game yardage record of 247, set in 2022 by Jonathan Mingo at Vanderbilt and the single-game touchdown record of four set by Tre Harris against Mercer in 2023. He joined Mingo, Elijah Moore and AJ Brown as the only Rebels with 225-plus-yard receiving efforts.
Watkins dwarfed his own previous career-highs of 119 yards and one touchdown. He joined running back Henry Parrish Jr. as the second Rebel with a four-plus-TD game this season.
Three of Watkins' five scores came on passes of at least 62 yards, scoring twice from 62 and once from 66. Watkins currently leads the FBS now with four receptions of at least 60 yards—all for touchdowns—and in his Ole Miss career, he now owns seven receptions of at least 60 yards.
