Softball Inks Two-Way Star Aliyah Binford as Transfer

OXFORD, Miss. – The Ole Miss softball program and head coach Jamie Trachsel have made a splash in the transfer window, inking two-way star Aliyah Binford as a transfer.
Binford joins the program for the 2025 season with one year of eligibility remaining. Binford spent all her previous collegiate seasons at Baylor, where she was a two-time NFCA All-Region selection.
A dynamic two-way player, Binford is a career .297 hitter at the plate, playing in 187 games, while tallying 19 home runs, 37 doubles and 96 RBI. In the circle, Binford has made 98 appearances and 54 starts, going 40-23 with a 3.12 ERA over 410.2 innings pitched, while recording 408 strikeouts.
Earning 2024 and 2022 NFCA All-Region honors alongside All-Big 12 honors in the same seasons, Binford also shined in her bounce back from season-ending injury in 2023. The New Braunfels, Texas native was named D1Softball's Comeback Player of the Year in 2024, going 13-12 with a 3.23 ERA, while hitting .272 with 10 extra-base hits and 21 RBI.
Binford made waves for the Bears in their matchup with the Rebels in the 2024 NCAA Tournament, throwing seven innings of one-hit softball, while striking out four to lead Baylor to a 3-1 win.
Binford joins a dynamic class of seven transfers and eight freshmen, as the 15th newcomer for the Rebels, who will pursue their fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance under Trachsel.
