Women’s Tennis Remains Undefeated at Home

OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss women's tennis found their spark in singles to defeat Baylor, 4-1. The Rebels win four consecutive singles matches, three by straight-set.
Ole Miss (4-2) began outdoors at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center before having to move inside due to weather. The Rebels unfortunately dropped the first point after losing two doubles matches.
Singles got off to an electric start, with all Rebels winning their first sets. No stranger to the pressure, Briana Crowley dominated at the No. 3 slot, winning 6-3, 6-2.
Ludmilla Kareisova took control of her match from the very beginning, winning the first set, 6-4. The junior took her momentum into the second not letting up a single game for the 6-0 score. Her first dual singles win of the season put the Rebels up by one.
A constant force at the No. 5 position for the Rebels, Emma Kette dominated once again. Kette tallied a dynamic 6-4, 6-0 victory making her three-for-three in dual singles on the season.
After a forced third set from Baylor (2-4) on court four, Rachel Krzyzak finished the match on a down the line return, with a final score of 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, ultimately securing the clinch for Ole Miss.
Two courts were left unfinished, Ava Hraster and Reka Zadori, all who had entered a third set.
The Rebels head off to New Orleans on Sunday, Feb 25. taking on Tulane at 1 p.m. CT.
