 OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE NET
Belmont
The Bruin roster does not include a single senior and consists of four juniors, two sophomores, and two freshmen. Belmont lost a key player from last season, Meredith Roberts, a graduate student. Roberts compiled a 13-11 singles record, including 6-1 in the conference. She was also 16-10 in doubles. However, the constant growth of Mariia Hlahola has the Bruins in a good position. As a freshman, Hlahola led the team, going 23-9 at No. 1 singles and 17-10 at No. 1 doubles. She has already kept up in her sophomore campaign, with an 8-1 singles record and 3-0 in dual singles. The Bruins also brought back Hlahola's doubles partner, Anastasiya Zholdakova, who went 21-6 in doubles in 2023 and is 9-6 this year.

Belmont found another standout freshman in Vesa Gjinaj; the first-year player is 9-2 in singles, including a 3-0 record in dual matches at different spots in the middle of the lineup.

The Bruins started the 2023-24 season 3-0 season, including two neutral site matches against Southeast Missouri and Austin Peay. The Ole Miss match begins a three-match road trip.
