Women’s Basketball’s Snudda Collins Earns Spot on the SEC Community Service Team
2/29/2024 | Women's Basketball
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – As the SEC works to recognize the accomplishments of student-athletes off the court, senior forward Snudda Collins has been named to the 2024 SEC Community Service team, the conference announced Thursday afternoon.
A Brookhaven, Miss. native, Collins has found many ways to give back to her state throughout her time at Ole Miss. She assisted with the Adopt a Basket program which donated over 100 Thanksgiving baskets to families in need throughout the Lafayette-Oxford-University community ahead of the holiday. Collins also worked with Feed the Sip to help with the collection of non-perishable food items that benefit elementary students throughout Tunica and Quitman counties.
During the water crisis in Jackson, Collins worked to collect water bottles for those in need throughout the area. Collins has also been found in many elementary school classrooms throughout Oxford as part of Reading with the Rebels to increase and support literacy. She also partnered with the Ashley Homestore Hope to Dream event in providing bed sets to children in Tunica, Quitman and Lafayette counties. While in the Bahamas, Collins participated in a basketball clinic at the St. Francis and Joseph School in Nassau. This past summer, Collins interned with CASA of North Mississippi where she organized a back to school drive to benefit over 90 foster children throughout the region.
On the court, Collins continues to etch her name in Rebel history in her fourth year in an Ole Miss uniform. The senior currently averages 9.7 points per game and has moved up the Rebel record books this season with 172 made threes to rank in the top-five in program history. This past week against Missouri, Collins tied her season-best with four made triples against the Tigers as she continues to work her way up the record book. Sitting at 913 career points, Collins is 87 points away from reaching 1,000 in her career.
