Women’s Golf Travels Back to Florida for Gators Invitational

Gainesville, Fla. – The Ole Miss women's golf team is set to square off with 12 other programs at the annual Gators Invitational, set to run March 1-2 at the Mark Bostick Golf Course.
Set up as a 56-hole tournament over two days of action, the tournament will feature a total of seven teams ranked within Golfstat's top 50, including No. 13 Ole Miss. Three years ago, Ole Miss earned the 2021 Gators Invitational team title after shooting an 856 on the weekend to finish 16 over par.

THE COURSE
Playing at 6,002 yards as a par 70, the Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville, Florida sits less than one mile away from the University of Florida, and serves as the official home course for the Gators' men's and women's golf teams. The course itself is situated on 110 acres of heavily wooded, rolling terrain, and plays home to the annual Gators Invitational, as well as the Gator Golf Day Pro-Am. This will mark the third consecutive year that the Rebels travel to Gainesville to take part in the annual tournament, as well as the team's 15th appearance all-time dating back to 1998.
REBELS IN THE RANKINGS
The Rebels head to Florida coming in at No. 13 in the most recent Scoreboard rankings powered by Clippd. The team is led by Macnab who sits in the 16 slot for individual rankings. Fournand, Host Husted, Lignell, Johnson and Linder also all find themselves placed in the top 300 college golfers across the country, being ranked No. 126, No. 133, No. 143, No. 201 and No. 277, respectively.
MACNAB NAMED TO ANNIKA AWARD FINAL FALL WATCH LIST
Macnab found herself amongst 20 of the nation's top collegiate women's golfers named to The ANNIKA Award Final Fall Watch List, presented by Stifel. The award is given annually to the most outstanding women's college golfer, as voted on by players, coaches and media. The Johannesburg, South Africa, native has lit up the golf course to open her junior campaign for the Rebels. She placed in the top-10 in all four tournaments this fall and notched her second collegiate medalist finish at the Mason Rudolph Championship with a score of 204 (-12). After Macnab's impressive showing at the Mason Rudolph Championship, the junior also earned her first SEC Golfer of the Week honors.
REBEL DUO RECEIVES INVITES TO ANWA
The Rebel pair of Lignell and Macnab received invitations to the 2024 installment of the prestigious Augusta National Women's Amateur, marking Macnab's third time and Lignell's second to receive an invitation to play at the ANWA. The tournament, taking place a week before The Masters, will feature 72 of the best women's amateur golfers in the world and will be held at the Champions Retreat Golf Club. Following the second round, the field will be cut to 30 with the final round to be played at Augusta National. Last year, the duo did exceptionally well as Lignell placed third overall with a score of 210 (-6) while Macnab tied for ninth at 217 (+1).
