BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Ole Miss women's track & field All-American senior Jasmine Mitchell has been named the SEC Women's Co-Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
Mitchell won the women's shot put last week at Georgia Tech's Yellow Jacket Invitational, setting the current early-season national lead at 16.88m/55-04.75. That distance is just a few inches off her outdoor career-best 16.97m/55-08.25 from the 2023 NCAA East Regional. Mitchell most recently is coming off two All-America finishes indoors, a First-Team honor in third place in the weight throw and a 12th-place Second-Team honor in the shot put.
Both Rebel squads return home this week to host the annual Ole Miss Classic, which runs March 22-23 at the Ole Miss Track & Field Complex.
