Women’s Golf Caps Off First Day of Clemson Invitational

SUNESET, S.C. – The Ole Miss women's golf team closed out the opening day of the Clemson Invitational sitting in a tie for 10th place shooting 292 (+4) in Friday's round. 
 
The Rebels hold the most pars in the field at 61 and are currently ranked second in par 5 scoring, shooting 7-under on the day at The Reserve at Lake Keowee. 
 
Continuing her momentum from the last tournament, Natacha Host Husted led the way for the Rebel lineup going 2-under in the first round and ending the day tied for 9th. Along with making her first birdie of the season on a par 5 hole, the junior leads the field in par 5 scoring shooting 4-under as she continues to blaze the trail for Ole Miss.
 
Sitting behind tied for 14th after shooting a first round score of 71 (-1), sat Andrea Lignell. Making a team-high three birdies and 13 pars, the Gothenburg, Sweden, native looks to move up the leaderboard over the next two days. 
 
Caitlyn Macnab settled into a tie for 40th place as she shot a first round score of 74 (+2). Along with Husted, the junior has found success on the par 5 holes, going 2-under which ranks in the top 5 in the field of 88 golfers. 
 
The two underclassmen rounded out the lineup for the Rebels as Sophie Linder shot a score of 77 (+5) to end the day tied for 68th while Nicole Gal sits tied for 75th after stringing together a 78 (+6) round score. 
 
Competing individually for the Rebels, Justine Fournand will enter the second day in the top 20 as she holds a round score of 72 (E) and sits tied for 20th.
 
Ole Miss will kick off round two tomorrow, weather permitting, with stroke play tee times ranging from 8 a.m. to 9:40 a.m. CT at The Reserve at Lake Keowee.
