OXFORD, Miss – The Ole Miss Women's Tennis team fell short in the final home match of the season against Arkansas, 4-2, on Sunday.
The Rebels (12-10, 5-8 SEC) had an intense matchup verses the Razorbacks (11-11, 4-8 SEC) in doubles. Ludmila Kareisova and Kelsey Mize put up a strong fight as court 3 was forced into a tiebreak. Ultimately Arkansas took home the doubles point with a 7-5 win.
Freshman Andrea Nova quickly put Ole Miss into the conversation after a straight set victory, 6-3, 6-3.
Ava Hrastar soon followed, after a thrilling battle in the second position. After a first set comeback win of 7-5, Hrastar dialed in, defeating her opponent in the second set, 6-3.
Two Rebels fell short on their respective courts, and one was left unfinished after Arkansas clinched the match on court one.
Ole Miss will head to Athens, Georgia to compete in the SEC Women's Tennis Tournament April 17-21. The 10 seed Rebels will take on No. 7 Vanderbilt at noon on Thursday, April 18.
