Ole Miss Athletics Celebrates its Student-Athletes at the 2024 Rebels Choice Awards

OXFORD, Miss. – Presented by the Ole Miss Student-Athlete Engagement Staff and the Ole Miss Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), the 13th annual Rebels Choice Awards on Monday highlighted academic and community service excellence from the past year.
 
Hosted by football's JJ Pegues, Ole Miss honored some of its highest achieving student-athletes from the SJB Pavilion.

For the third straight year, women's basketball was awarded the Community Engagement Award on the women's side, while baseball was recognized with the men's honor.
 
With the highest team GPA on the men's side for the seventh consecutive year, men's tennis took home the Chancellor's Cup, and women's golf was awarded with the Chancellor's Cup for the third straight year.
 
Representing men's tennis, senior Lukas Engelhardt won the Men's Scholar-Athlete of the Year award, while soccer senior Jenna Kemp earned the Women's Scholar Athlete of the Year award.
 
In honor of former non-scholarship football player Bennie Abram, men's track and field's Gabe Scales earned the award given annually to a student-athlete with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Women's Scholar-Athlete of the Year: Jenna Kemp, Women's Soccer
Men's Scholar-Athlete of the Year: Lukas Engelhardt, Men's Tennis
*Must have GPA of 3.5 or higher
 
Bennie Abram Award: Gabe Scales, Men's Track & Field
*Given annually to a student-athlete with a GPA above 3.0 in honor of former non-scholarship football player, Bennie Abram
 
Chancellor's Cup: Women's Golf, Men's Tennis
*Highest team GPA
 
Community Engagement: Women's Basketball, Baseball
