THE COURSE
Located in the foothills above the Stanford University campus, the Stanford Golf Course is consistently rated one of the finest courses in the world. Throughout the years, Stanford has hosted many intercollegiate and non-collegiate events, including U.S Open Qualifying, Women's NCAA Championships, NCAA Regionals, Pac-12 Championships and the USGA Junior Amateur Qualifying.
THOUGHTS FROM COACH MALLOY
"This is always a fun time of year as the end goal is clearly in sight. Our guys know that there will be a lot thrown at them over the next couple of weeks and are excited for the challenge. I can't wait to watch them compete."
REBELS IN THE RANKINGS
Ole Miss heads into the postseason ranked No. 7 as a team in Clippd Golf Rankings and the GCAA Coaches Poll. As for individuals, lone ranger Micahel La Sasso settled into the No. 5 individual rank and has remained in the top 10 in national rankings the entirety of the spring season.
CALIFORNIA DREAMING
The Rebels will head back to the Golden State for the first time since 2019. The last time Ole Miss traveled to Stanford for a NCAA Regional was in 2019 where they shot a season low and postseason program low tournament team score of 843. Ole Miss finished in sixth place, just one stroke back from the cut. This year's team looks to chase the post season record books and come back from the past.
FOR THE RED, MIKE, AND BLUE
Michael La Sasso, the sophomore sensation, has been selected to represent the United States at the 2024 Arnold Palmer Cup. La Sasso is the first current Ole Miss men's golfer to be selected to represent in the prestigious event since Braden Thornberry in 2018. The Raleigh, North Carolina, native has had a stellar year as he has been Ole Miss' best individual in six out of eight tournaments this regular season, holding a 69.35 stroke average through 26 rounds, which leads Ole Miss and is on pace to pass Thornberry in the record books for lowest season stroke average. La Sasso looks to extend his list of accolades as the postseason heats up for the Rebels. The 2024 Arnold Palmer Cup is set to run July 5-7 at Lahinch Golf Club in Lahinch, Ireland. Golf Channel coverage of the tournament is still to be announced.
