Women’s Golf Set for 2024 NCAA Championships

CARLSBAD, Calif. – Ole Miss women's golf is prepped and ready to tee off at the 2024 NCAA Championships, set to be played May 17-22 at the La Costa Champions Course. This marks the second consecutive year the Rebels have made it to the final event and the fifth time in program history.
The 156-person field is comprised of 30 teams along competing for the overall title with six women who qualified for the individual championship.
Players will first compete in three 18-hole rounds of stroke-play competition from Friday to Sunday. Following the third round, the field will be cut to the top 15 teams and the top nine individuals of non-advancing teams for Monday.
Monday's fourth round of stroke play will take place, at which point the 2024 individual national champion will be crowned. Following the fourth round, the field will be cut to the top eight teams who will move on to match play beginning Tuesday morning, which will be seeded in order of finish in stroke play.
A knockout match play competition will then take place to determine the 2024 team national champion. Quarterfinal and Semifinal match play rounds will be held Tuesday, May 21, with the Championship set for Wednesday, May 22.

· Shot a career-low round score of 66 (-6) in the opening round of the Valspar Augusta Invitational
· In Ole Miss program history, tallies the third most rounds in the 60s this season with eight
Sophie Linder (Fr.) – Carthage, Tennessee
· Holds a 72.94 stroke average this season
· Shot a career-low 54-hole score at the Bermuda Run Regional with a 212 (-4)
· Earned two SEC Freshman Golfer of the Week honors this year
· Clinched a career-high finish in at Valspar, as she tied for 6th place
· Has strung together 13 rounds even or below par after playing in every event this season
Nicole Gal (So.) – Oakville, Ontario
· Enters regional with season stroke average of 73.08 in 13 rounds played
· Subbed into SEC Championships and shot best Rebel third round score and career-low of 69 (-1)
· Secured highest career placing at the Bermuda Run Regional, tying for 24th
· Tied career-low 54-hole score of 218 (+2) at the Rebels' Regional

Justine Fournand (Sr.) – Erstein, France
· Currently shooting a season stroke average of 72.70
· Placed in the top 5 at the Cougar Classic and Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate

· At the Cougar Classic, recorded a career-low 54-hole total with a score of 203 (-10)

REBELS IN THE RANKINGS
Ole Miss moved into the No. 14 ranked position overall in the latest Scoreboard Powered by Clippd, with the team also sitting in the No. 12 spot in the Mizuno WGCA Coaches Poll Rankings. The Rebel lineup features Macnab who claims the lone Top 100 individual ranking for Ole Miss, holding the No. 19 spot according to Scoreboard individual rankings.
MAKING HISTORY ONCE AGAIN
Ole Miss women's golf came away with its first regional title in program history, as the Rebels rallied on the back nine on the final day to take home top honors at the NCAA Bermuda Run Regional. The Rebels shot their lowest 18-hole postseason score in program history of 279 (-9) in the third round, to cap off their weekend with a scorecard of 843 (-21). Much of the Rebels' momentum can be credited to Caitlyn Macnab who earned her third career medalist finish and second of the year after tying for the individual championship, finishing her week at 12-under. Two more Rebels joined Macnab with top 15 finishes as Sophie Linder tied for 13th and Justine Fournand finished tied at 15th.
RECOGNIZING OUR FEARLESS LEADER
Head coach Kory Henkes was named to the 2023-24 Division I Jackie Steinmann WGCA National Coach of the Year Presented by Golf Pride watch list. This marks the third time in four years that Henkes has been selected to the prestigious list, including 2020-21 when she took home the WGCA National Coach of the Year award after guiding Ole Miss women's golf to their first title that year. During the 2023-24 regular season, Henkes helped the Rebels to another successful showing with three first place finishes and five top five team finishes.
