Linder Completes Stellar First Round at 2024 NCAA Championships

CARLSBAD, Calif. – The Ole Miss women's golf team finished the opening round of the NCAA Championships with a score of 299 (+11) to sit tied for 21st heading into day two at the La Costa Champions Course.
Teeing off in the final group during the early afternoon, Ole Miss made 13 birdies on the day, with six of those coming from Sophie Linder.
Linder led the way for the Rebels shooting her 10th round below par this season with a scorecard of 68 (-4). Propelled by a flawless first nine holes as she made four birdies and five pars, the freshman ended the day tied for third place individually.
Natacha Host Husted and Justine Fournand both wrapped up the day with a score of 76 (+4) to see themselves tied for 99th. Nicole Gal and Caitlyn Macnab rounded out the lineup for the Rebels, shooting 7-over and 8-over, respectively, to cap off their days.
Ole Miss will look to bounce back Saturday morning for round two as the Rebels are set to tee off from hole one at 10:30 a.m. CT.
