Men’s Golf Flexes Muscles in June on the Individual Summer Circuit

OXFORD, Miss. – Coming off of a regional appearance as a team for Ole Miss men's golf this past season, the Rebels have kicked its off-season off in high gear with multiple Rebels picking up tournament wins on the amateur circuit this summer.
Starting off, Tom Fischer picked up a win at the 108th Alabama State Amateur Championship after shooting -13 under 275 (68, 73, 65, 69) following four rounds of action at the Shoal Creek Club. Fischer headed into the final round with a narrow lead of one stroke and took action by firing off five birdies in his final 18 holes to claim the title by four-shots. His victory earned him a spot at the 2024 U.S. Amateur Championship in Chaska, Minnesota from August 12-18.
The winning continued for the Rebels, with rising sophomore Aidan Cohl earning his first tournament win of the off-season at the Yellowhammer Invitational from Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Opelika, Alabama. The Cumming, Georgia, native shot under par in two out of three rounds and secured victory in his final round with seven birdies to finish -9 under on the weekend.
For the second year in a row, Kye Meeks took home the trophy at the Mississippi State Amateur, with the Walnut, Miss., native going back-to-back. Meeks shot under par in all four rounds at Tupelo Country club, saving his best work for the final round where he shot -6 under to cement his champion status. Meeks joins Fischer in earning a spot at the 2024 U.S. Amateur Championship later this summer.
