Football Leads Nation, Puts 21 on 2025 Reese’s Senior Bowl Watch List

8/21/2024 | Football

MOBILE, Ala. – For the second year in a row, Ole Miss football leads the nation with 21 selections on the 2025 Reese's Senior Bowl Watch List, as announced on Wednesday morning.

Ole Miss is one of just three schools to crack 20 selections to the watch list, with those 21 Rebels sitting ahead of Georgia (20), Texas A&M (20), Alabama (19), LSU (18), Ohio State (18) and Oregon (17). The SEC was the lone conference to break 200 selections at 229 total, ahead of the Big Ten (161), ACC (134) and Big 12 (118). In total, 11 schools had at least 15 selections, while 22 more had at least 10.

Making the list for the Rebels are: defensive back Trey Amos, defensive back Yam Banks, running back Ulysses Bentley IV, linebacker Khari Coleman, quarterback Jaxson Dart, running back Logan Diggs, defensive back Isaiah Hamilton, wide receiver Tre Harris, defensive end Jared Ivey, offensive lineman Jeremy James, defensive back Key Lawrence, defensive tackle Walter Nolen, linebacker Chris Paul Jr., defensive tackle JJ Pegues, offensive lineman Micah Pettus, tight end Caden Prieskorn, offensive lineman Gerquan Scott, defensive end Princely Umanmielen, defensive back Trey Washington, wide receiver Jordan Watkins and wide receiver Antwane Wells Jr.

The Reese's Senior Bowl is widely regarded as the preeminent college football all-star game and the first stage in the NFL Draft process. The longest continual-running all-star game has taken place in Mobile, Alabama the past 75 years. More than 900 NFL personnel, including key decision-makers from all 32 teams, and more than 1,100 media members from around the country were credentialed this year. This past April, the game produced 110 total picks, representing 43 percent of the entire NFL Draft.

This year's 12th annual list is comprised of an all-time record 859 prospects. This total number is up significantly from past years due to the new addition of specialists and underclassmen, as well as the inclusion of many fifth and sixth-year seniors opting to use their extra COVID year of eligibility. All the prospects who made the cut were evaluated by staff and tape-based grades were also logged on hundreds of other senior prospects who ultimately did not make the list.

Per last November's ruling by the National Football League, all college players three years removed from high school are now eligible to enter the NFL Draft and thus, for the first time ever, the watch list includes 81 underclassmen identified as potential early-out draft prospects.
