Kemp Alderman Named Florida State League Player of the Month

OXFORD, Miss. – Minor League Baseball today announced the Player and Pitcher of the Month Award winners for July, naming former Rebel and National Champion Kemp Alderman as the Player of the Month for the Single-A Florida State League.
Alderman slashed .293/.368/.587 and led the league in RBI (25) and slugging percentage (.587) during the month of July. He was second in total bases (44) and third in hits (22) and OPS (.955). He also finished fourth in doubles (five) and home runs (five).
The outfielder was promoted to High-A Beloit on August 2 following his dominant run at Single-A.

Alderman is currently slashing .265/.341/.444 across three levels in his first full season as a professional baseball player. He opened the season on the injured list before being sent to the Florida Complex League on a rehab assignment on May 30. He spent just two months in Single-A before his promotion to High-A.
In just 33 games with the Single-A Jupiter Hammerheads, Alderman hit .270 with a .468 slugging percentage and a .789 OPS. Despite playing in significantly fewer games than his teammates, he was tied for the team lead in home runs and his 30 RBI were the third-most on the team.

Alderman was a two-time All-American in 2023 for Ole Miss and became the first Rebel to win the Ferriss Trophy in nearly 10 years. He was also an essential part of Ole Miss’ offense during their magical 2022 National Championship run, even being named to the College World Series All-Tournament Team that season. He was drafted by the Miami Marlins as the 47th overall pick in the 2023 MLB Draft.
