EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Ole Miss women's golf team came away with a tournament sweep in the team's second fixture of the season, as the Rebels dominated their way to earning the 2024 Mary Fossum Invitational team and individual titles on Monday.

Ending with a three-round team score of 847 (-17), the Rebels secured the tournament record at the Forest Akers West Golf Course, sitting an impressive 15 strokes ahead of the hosts in Michigan State who finished in second.

The Rebels held all the control over the two days, leading the field in par-4 scoring (E), par-5 scoring (-8), birdies (55) and sitting in second for par-3 scoring (+1). Additionally, every Rebel who competed broke at least one of their career-records this weekend.

Ole Miss was led by Caitlyn Macnab who earned her fourth career medalist finish and first of the season, finishing with the tournament record total score of 204 (-12). The Johannesburg, South Africa, native blazed the course in her final day of play, going 4-under after making five birdies and 12 pars.

Macnab proved she is a force to be reckoned with after ranking first in par-3 scoring (-4), par-5 scoring (-5), and birdies (15) across the field.

The double hardware finish for the Rebels marks the team's first tournament sweep at an event since 2022 when Ole Miss and Andrea Lignell secured The Ally medalist finishes. This marks just the 11th time in program history that the Rebels have accomplished this feat.

Nicole Gal had an outstanding showing these past two days after tallying her career-low three-round score of 211 (-5) and her career best individual finish, placing in fourth. The junior fired home a 70 (-2) to cap off her time in Michigan while also securing the third most birdies in the field (14).

Not far behind was Sophie Linder who strung together a 73 (+1) in the third round to bring her total scorecard to a 215 (-1). Tying for fifth place, the Carthage, Tennessee, native earned her highest career individual finish and additionally earned the third-best par-3 scoring in the field alongside Macnab (-3).

Kajsalotta Svarvar earned her first top-20 finish of her young career, tying for 20th after shooting 221 (+5) in East Lansing. In her third and final round, the freshman saw a perfect back nine after making two birdies and seven pars, to match her first-round score of 73 (+1).

Rounding out the championship lineup for the Rebels was Filippa Sundquist who boasted a scorecard of 222 (+6) after going 5-over on the final day. The Kullavik, Sweden, native earned a share of 25th place to cap off her second career collegiate tournament.

Competing individually for the Rebels was Larissa Carrillo who put together a total score of 232 (+16) this weekend.

Next up, the Rebels will travel to Medinah, Illinois to compete in the Illini Women's Invitational for the 2nd straight year, running Oct. 7-8 at the Medinah Country Club.
