2023 South Carolina Gamecocks Recap
South Carolina finished last season at 5-7 and 3-5 in conference play, falling short of bowl eligibility for the first time in three seasons under head coach Shane Beamer. Four of the Gamecocks' seven defeats came to ranked teams, all coming in their first seven games. South Carolina won three of four down the stretch but was unable to overcome the difficult early-season slate.

2024 South Carolina Snapshot
South Carolina faced adversity at the outset of the season, finding itself trailing 19-16 to Old Dominion in the fourth quarter of its season opener. The Gamecocks mounted a game-winning drive to escape with a 22-19 win, then rebounded in a big way with a 31-6 victory at Kentucky. South Carolina dropped a close home loss to LSU the following week before trouncing Akron, 50-7, to improve to 3-1. The Gamecocks will enter this game coming off their first bye week.

Three Players to Watch: Ole Miss
  1. Antwane Wells Jr. – The former South Carolina star is unlikely to receive a positive welcome at Williams-Brice Stadium. Will it fuel him to have a big game?
  2. Jaxson Dart – How will the Heisman Trophy candidate bounce back from his first taste of adversity this season?
  3. Princely Umanmielen – The star Rebel defensive end has 5.0 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks over the last two games. He had a sack and two TFLs at South Carolina last year.

Three Players to Watch: South Carolina
  1. Raheim Sanders – The former Arkansas star is eighth in the SEC, averaging 71.5 yards per game on the ground. Ole Miss fans know him all too well from his career-high 232-yard rushing game against the Rebels in 2022.
  2. Kyle Kennard – Kyle Kennard is fourth in the nation and leads the SEC in both tackles for loss (8.5) and sacks (5.5).
  3. Nick Emmanwori – Nick Emmanwori leads South Carolina in tackling with 24 and interceptions with two.
