Men’s Tennis Opens 2025 Spring Slate with Doubleheader Against Eastern Kentucky

OXFORD, Miss - The Ole Miss men's tennis team will welcome Eastern Kentucky to the William F. Galtney Indoor Tennis Center for a doubleheader on Monday, Jan. 13th to open the Rebels' 2025 spring campaign. 
 
The Rebels will square off against the Colonels on Monday at 11 a.m. CT and then again at 4 p.m. CT. Live scoring and live video for both matches will be available to the public. Links to both can be found above as well as on the Ole Miss men's tennis schedule page. 
 
VETERAN REBELS
Ole Miss is led by the upperclassmen trio of Noah Schlagenhauf, Isac Strömberg and  Gordon Whitwell. The three Rebels racked up fifteen singles wins collectively in the fall. Schlagenhauf qualified for the ITA Sectionals in Tallahassee, Fla. and notched a spot in the qualifying round of the ITA All-Americans. The junior pair of Whitwell and Strömberg teamed up on the doubles court to secure two wins during their fall run and will look to find more success in the spring season. 
 
FRESHMEN FACES
The Rebels welcomed three freshmen faces to the squad in the fall who all quickly made a name for themselves in the Ole Miss community. Freshmen duo of Matthieu Chambonniere and  Benjamin Martin were named the Houndstooth Draw doubles champions at the SEC Challenge to open the fall season. The Lille, France, native, Loan Lestir notched four singles wins in his first semester with the Rebels as well. 
 
Freshman, Kai Milburn will officially begin his time with the Rebels in January. The Queenstown, New Zealand, native boasts a successful junior's career, where he ranked as high as 137 in the ITF Juniors rankings, earned a career record of 54-32 in singles, and has an ITF combined ranking of 141. 
 
TRANSFER TO THE 'SIP
Dakotah Bobo previously redshirted at LSU and played two seasons at Southern Mississippi before joining the Rebels in the fall. The junior tallied six singles wins and fourteen doubles wins while at Southern Mississippi. Marcel Kamrowski joined the Rebels in January from Middle Tennessee State. The Gdańsk, Poland, native tallied an overall 38-23 singles record and a 26-19 doubles record during his two-year tenure at MTSU. 
 
TEAM PROFILE: EASTERN KENTUCKY
Adam Cohen is in his third season at the helm of the Eastern Kentucky men's tennis program. Cohen led the Colonels to a 20-10 record in the 2023-24 season and steered them to the first round of the NIT Championships. Moritz Mayer and Evzen Holis led the way in singles securing 16 singles wins for the Colonels last season. Mayer was joined by Mario Monclus Martin on the doubles court and boasted an impressive 12-7 record on the season.
