1/14/2025 | Track and Field
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Ole Miss track & field junior Tarik Robinson-O'Hagan (Men's Field Athlete of the Week) and sophomore Akaoma Odeluga (Women's Field Athlete of the Week) have won SEC weekly honors, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
Odeluga set the current world lead in the women's shot put for 2025, winning at Kentucky's Rod McCravy Invitational last weekend on a one-foot overall career-best 18.37m/60-03.25. That distance ranks third in Ole Miss history indoors, and makes her one of three 60-footers indoors in Rebel women's history alongside Olympian Raven Saunders (19.56m/64-02.25) and All-American Jalani Davis (18.61m/61-00.75).
Her performance also moved her to No. 20 all-time in collegiate history, making Ole Miss the lone school with three entrants in the top-20 alongside Saunders (No. 2) and Davis (No. 12). Odeluga also finished runner-up in the weight throw at a one-foot PR of 21.23m/69-8, currently good for No. 7 in Division I and No. 7 in Ole Miss history.
Robinson-O'Hagan – a preseason watch list member for The Bowerman – increased his collegiate lead in the men's shot put at Kentucky's Rod McCravy Invitational, winning at a season-best 20.51m/67-03.50. That performance currently leads the United States overall, ranks No. 2 in the world for 2025 and stands as the furthest throw this early into the collegiate season (Jan. 11) in available records since at least 2008.
Robinson-O'Hagan also won the weight throw at 22.47m/73-08.75, and he still ranks second in Division I at his season-opening 22.88m/75-00.75 from Dec. 6.
Ole Miss returns to Nashville this weekend for the Vanderbilt Invitational, which runs Jan. 17-18.
