OLE MISS VS. FLORIDA
Thursday's matchup marks the 50th between the Rebels and the Gators in a series that dates to 1979. Ole Miss holds a 25-24 series advantage and have won the past six straight against Florida. Both teams have been road warriors against each other, with Florida owning a 13-9 record in Oxford while Ole Miss is 11-10 in Gainesville.

Ole Miss began the series on an eight-game winning streak, which is still the largest by the Rebels in the series. The Rebels opened the series with a 101-78 victory on March 8, 1979. The victory came in the first round of the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women Region III Tournament. The Rebels rejected 11 Gator shots in that game, which is still tied for sixth-most in a single game by an Ole Miss squad in program history. Ole Miss didn't allow Florida to win its first head-to-head matchup until 1993, when Florida squeaked out a 69-65 victory in Oxford.

All of Ole Miss' past six victories against Florida, spanning to 2022, have been won by double figures. Its most impressive win came on Feb. 5, 2023, when the Rebels stomped the Gators, 68-42. The 26-point victory is the largest by Ole Miss in the series. The Rebels held the Gators to 24.1% from the field, the lowest field goal percentage Ole Miss had held an SEC team to in 20 seasons to that point. Angel Baker, Madison Scott and Marquesha Davis went for double figures on the day, with Baker scoring a game-high 18. Rita Igbokwe snagged 11 rebounds to lead the field.

Ole Miss and Florida faced off three times last season. The most important matchup came in the first round of the 2024 SEC Tournament, where the Rebels pulled off a 84-74 victory. Davis popped off for 33 points and six rebounds against the Gators, while Scott secured her seventh double-double of the 2023-24 season (14 points and 15 rebounds). Davis' 33 points was the most by a Rebel last season, while Scotts' 15 boards are the second most by a Rebel in an SEC Tournament game.

Scott has historically played well against the Gators. In the second matchup between the two teams last season, Scott exploded for a career-high 27 points on 10 made field goals. She added 12 rebounds to the cause for yet another double-double.

SCOUTING THE GATORS
Head coach Kelly Rae Finley is in her third season at the helm of the Florida program. She's accumulated a 66-49 overall record in her time in Gainesville, as the Gators are 11-7 overall with a 2-2 mark in SEC play to start 2024-25. Finley is 0-5 against Ole Miss.

Florida boasts one of the highest shooting percentages in the country, knocking down 48% of its shots through 18 games. That ranks 14th nationally and third in the SEC. The Gators are also top-30 nationally in rebound margin (29) and scoring offense (29). Florida has scored 90-plus points four times this season, including in its last outing versus Missouri, when the Gators comfortably handled the Tigers, 93-67.

Liv McGill is the offensive leader for Florida, averaging 16.1 points per game with 5.2 assists. The freshman scored a season-high 28 points against in-state rival Florida State, knocking down 11 field goals. McGill is coming off her most impressive performance to date, which came in the form of a triple double against Missouri. She dropped 21 points, snagged 11 rebounds and dished out 10 assists. McGill became the first Gator since 2017 to record a triple-double.

Ra Shaya Kyle leads in the paint for the Gators, averaging the fourth-most rebounds in the SEC with 9.6 per game. Kyle is also efficient on the offensive end, with the eighth-best field goal percentage in the nation at 63.7%.

Jeriah Warren is Florida's biggest threat from the perimeter. She leads the team with 1.83 threes per game, and is coming off a 27-point performance against Missouri.

LAST TIME OUT
Ole Miss dropped its matchup against Alabama, 84-78, despite the Rebels outrebounding and outpassing the Crimson Tide at the SJB Pavilion on Sunday evening.

Starr Jacobs paced Ole Miss with her second double-double of the season, but Alabama was hot from 3-point range all game which proved to be the difference-maker in the competition on Sunday.

Despite finding itself down by as much as 12 points in the second half, Ole Miss' offense kept pace with Alabama in the fourth quarter to help bring the score within two possessions. Although the Rebels scored 32 points in the fourth quarter, there wasn't enough time on the clock to back an Ole Miss victory.

Jacobs paced the team by generating a season and Ole Miss career-high 21 points and 12 rebounds, to go alongside a trio of assists. For Jacobs, it's the 28th double-double of her overall career, which ranks second among active Rebels behind Madison Scott.

IN OUR DEFENSE
It's well known that Ole Miss aims to dictate and disrupt, a goal the Rebel defense has accomplished so far.

In scoring defense, the Rebels sit at No. 3 in the nation and No. 1 in the SEC, holding opponents to just 51.3 points per game. Through sixteen games in the 2024-25 season, Ole Miss has forced eight teams to score fewer than 50 points.

The next best defense in the SEC is South Carolina who sits all the way down at No. 14, allowing an average of 54.6 points per game.

CROWN HER!
If Ole Miss had a Mount Rushmore, Madison Scott would be carved into it after she made history midway through the first quarter of the Alabama game, scoring her 1,500th career point on a jump shot from the elbow.

Scott is only the eighth Rebel to accumulate that many points, all while at Ole Miss. Overall, she's the 11th player to score their 1,500th career point in Oxford.

THRIVING AT THE LINE
As one of the nation's top teams at reaching the free throw line, the Rebels excelled from the charity stripe against Vanderbilt and Alabama.

The Rebels have shot 92.5% from the line in its last two games, going 12-of-13 against the Commodores and 13-of-14 versus the Crimson Tide.

DOUBLE DOUBLE-DOUBLE TROUBLE
Notching two double-doubles this season against Boston College and Alabama, Starr Jacobs has earned 28 in her overall collegiate career and 19 as a Division I player.

In its matchup against Boston College, Jacobs headed the charge with her first double-double in a Rebel jersey, scoring 12 points and adding 11 rebounds. The graduate student paced the team versus Alabama by generating a season and Ole Miss career-high 21 points and 12 rebounds, to go alongside a trio of assists.

Madison Scott earned her first double-double of the 2024-25 season and the second by an Ole Miss player this season against MVSU. The fifth-year senior had 13 points and 10 rebounds against the Devilettes.
