Track & Field Weight Throwers Lead at Day One of Razorback Invitational

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Ole Miss men's and women's track & field put together a strong showing in the weight throw to close out Day One of Arkansas' Razorback Invitational on Friday.
Junior Bowerman watch list member Tarik Robinson-O'Hagan led the charge for the Rebels at 23.05m/75-07.50 and was one of four Rebel men to make the final. Robinson-O'Hagan remains undefeated this season, with each of his last two victories now surpassing the 23-meter plateau.
Junior Bryson Smith followed in fourth place at 21.78m/71-05.50, while fellow junior Mason Hickel finished seventh with a PR of 21.08m/69-2 that improves upon his spot at No. 4 in Ole Miss history. Senior Jake Dalton made the final from the first flight and finished eighth at a solid PR of 20.27m/66-6 – moving him up to No. 9 in Ole Miss history.
In the women's weight throw, sophomore Akaoma Odeluga finished third at 21.02m/68-11.75, her third-straight 21-meter performance. Fellow sophomore Skylar Soli followed in fifth place with a PR of 20.38m/66-10.50 – moving her up to No. 10 in Ole Miss history.
Ole Miss also received notable performances in the men's pole vault, where sophomore and Arkansas transfer John Kendricks had his best day as a Rebel at 5.30m/17-04.50 – which moves him into a tie for No. 5 in Ole Miss history indoors. Junior Logan Kelley finished sixth at 5.20m/17-00.75, tying his season best from the Birmingham Icebreaker earlier this season.
Elsewhere in the field, junior Arvesta Troupe – currently the No. 4 high jumper in the nation – posted a strong finish in fourth place at 2.15m/7-00.50.
Ole Miss received a handful of notable performances from freshmen on Friday as well, highlighted by Indya Dotson's career-best of 5.84m/19-2 in the women's long jump. Making their collegiate 200-meter debuts were Jordan Urrutia and Wesley Todd, who finished in 21.73 and 21.78, respectively. To cap off the day, Lily Beattie led the Rebel women in the pole vault at 4.00m/13-01.50.
Ole Miss returns to action at the Razorback Invitational on Saturday morning, beginning with the qualifying round of the men's 60-meter dash at 10:20 a.m. CT.
