Owen Paino Named One of Perfect Game’s Top 75 Collegiate Freshmen

OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss Baseball freshman Owen Paino has been named the No. 8 freshman in the country by Perfect Game, making the publication’s Top 75 Collegiate Freshmen list.
Paino is one of five SEC freshmen to make the Top 10 and is the third-highest ranked shortstop on the list. He was also ranked as the No. 6 2027 MLB Draft prospect by Perfect Game earlier this week.

The freshman from Poughkeepsie, New York was ranked No. 7 in Perfect Game’s Top 500 Fresh Arrivals on Campus and No. 21 in their Class of 2024 Top 500 earlier this fall. Paino was also part of an incoming class of Rebels that made up the No. 4 ranked recruiting class by both Perfect Game and Baseball America.
Ole Miss Baseball opens its 2025 season on February 14 against Arizona as part of the 2025 Shriners Children’s College Showdown in Arlington, Texas.
