Football’s Kewan Lacy Named SEC Offensive Player of the Week
11/17/2025 | Football
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Ole Miss football sophomore running back Kewan Lacy has been named a co-winner of the SEC Offensive Player of the Week award, as announced by the conference office on Monday morning.
Lacy had a historic outing in the Rebels' 34-24 victory over Florida last week, rushing for a career-high 224 yards and three touchdowns on 31 carries – the eighth-most rushing yards in Ole Miss single-game history and the most by any Rebel rusher since Brandon Bolden vs. Fresno State in 2010 (228).
Those three scores were Lacy's 17th, 18th and 19th rushing touchdowns of the season, breaking Quinshon Judkins' prior record of 16 set in 2022. With his 19 total scores, Lacy also broke the Ole Miss single-season all-purpose touchdown record of 17 previously set four times by Judkins (2022, '23), Bolden (2010) and Deuce McAllister (2000).
Lacy's 200-yard performance was the first by a Rebel rusher since the Arkansas game in 2022, when Judkins (214) and Zach Evans (207) both broke 200, and his 224 yards rank as the third-best single-game total in the SEC this season behind two performances by Missouri's Ahmad Hardy (300 vs. Mississippi State, 250 vs. Louisiana).
Lacy's season line currently stands at 231 carries for 1,136 yards and 19 TD, moving him into fourth on the single-season charts in carries and sixth in rushing yards. Lacy is only the eighth Rebel rusher all-time to rush for 1,000 yards in a season, and this marks the 11th total occasion. At 114 points this season, Lacy has also broke the single-season Ole Miss record for most points by a non-kicker, and he sits fourth all-time behind kickers Caden Davis (129, 2024), Jonathan Nichols (124, 2003) and Gary Wunderlich (120, 2015).
No. 5 Ole Miss (10-1, 6-1 SEC) is currently on its second bye week, and will next see the field in its regular season finale at Mississippi State (5-6, 1-6 SEC) in the 98th Battle for the Golden Egg. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. CT in Starkville on Fri., Nov. 28, with the game airing on either ABC or ESPN.
