SERIES HISTORY
Ole Miss and Wisconsin face for just the fifth time in series history. The victor of Friday's match will determine the leader of the overall series with the teams tied at two wins apiece. In neutral site matches, the Badgers hold a 2-1 advantage, but the Rebels won the last neutral game, 69-44, in the 2016-17 season.

In their last game against each other, Ole Miss and Wisconsin faced off in the UNLV Tournament in Las Vegas. Madinah Muhammad had 22 points in the game to lead all scorers while freshman Kate Rodgers led the Rebels on the glass with eight rebounds in just 13 minutes of action.

SCOUTING THE BADGERS
Head coach Robin Pingeton is in her first season at the helm of Wisconsin's women's basketball team. Ole Miss is familiar with Pingeton as she came to Wisconsin by way of Missouri, where she spent 15 seasons as the head coach of the Tiger program. She's off to a hot start with the Badgers, leading them to a 6-1 record through seven games. It's the best start by a first-year head coach in Wisconsin history, which the Badgers haven't accomplished under any head coach since 2018-19.

The Badgers backcourt duo of Kyrah Daniels and Destiny Howell have emerged as Wisconsin's top scorers early in the season. Both players have had at least one game this season with 20 or more points as Daniels leads the team at 13 points per game while Howell is just behind at 12.7. Daniels is also a capable rebounder with the second best per game average on the team with 5.7 per game. In front of her is Gift Uchenna, a 6-foot-3 forward out of Ebonyi State, Nigeria. She has a season-high of 10 rebounds in Wisconsin's only loss of the season against Marquette, where she also added 11 points for a double-double. She's averaging 6.6 rebounds per game.

Veteran point guard Ronnie Porter returns to the Badgers for her final season. She's led Wisconsin in assists for the past two seasons and is on pace to do so again this season, already at 30 to her name. No doubt the heartbeat of the Badgers, Porter has developed into a capable playmaker on both ends of the court.

GAMES AGAINST THE BIG TEN
Ole Miss has a 19-16 overall record against teams in the Big Ten. This is the first time this season the Rebels will face a fellow Power Four school this season. Ole Miss faced two new members of the conference last season, USC and UCLA, dropping both matches. The Rebels lost to the Trojans in the 2024-25 season opener at the Aflac Oui-Play in Paris, France, 68-66. Then, in the last game of the season, the Rebels fell to the Bruins in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament, 76-62. Ole Miss last beat a member of the Big Ten on Nov. 20, 2023, when it bested Michigan, 60-49, in the title round of the Battle4Atlantis Tournament.

THE EXPECTATION, NOT THE EXCEPTION
Entering year eight of the Yolett McPhee-McCuin era in Oxford, the standard has been set. Two Sweet 16s in three years, four NCAA Tournaments in a row, four straight 10-win SEC seasons, multiple All-SEC selections and three WNBA Draft picks, the Rebels have re-asserted themselves as a top program in women's college basketball.

5-0
Starting off the year a perfect 5-0, Ole Miss is undefeated through the first five games of a season for the third time under head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin, also achieving the feat in the 2022-23 and 2020-21 seasons. It marks only the seventh time in the 21st century a Rebel team earned a 5-0 record, seeing it in the 2022-23, 2020-21, 2016-17, 2008-09, 2002-03, and 2000-01 seasons, and only the 17th time in Ole Miss' 51 years of program history.

TWO OF A KIND
Christeen Iwuala and Cotie McMahon have come to be a dominant frontcourt tandem, with each recording a double-double in two straight games, and both just narrowly missing the feat again in the last contest. They are the only pair in the SEC to have both earned a double-double in the same two consecutive games this season. They also became the first Rebels since all-timer Madison Scott in the 2023-24 season to record a double-double in two straight games.

Adding to their strong start to the season, Iwuala and McMahon became the first pair of Rebels to begin a campaign with at least 10 points in the first five games since the 2020-21 season.

DIALED IN FROM DEEP
In the first game of the 2025-26 season, the Rebels put on a clinic from long distance, draining 13 threes on a 43.3 percent shooting clip. It surpasses last season's single game best by three and serves as the most since the Rebels clicked on 14 on Dec. 28, 2018, against North Florida. In the first quarter alone, Ole Miss converted five 3-pointers, matching last season's average in threes made per an entire game.
Cotie McMahon paced the team in made threes with four on six attempts (66.7%), followed by Tianna Thompson who made three on four attempts (75.0%). Alongside the leading pair, Debreasha Powe and Sira Thienou each earned two buckets from behind the arc, while Latasha Lattimore and Denim DeShields rounded out the Rebels' 3-point frenzy with one apiece.

BONUS BASKETBALL
Down 13 points late in the third quarter against Memphis, Ole Miss showed its resilience and fought all the way back to force extra minutes. Once in overtime, it was all Rebels, allowing Ole Miss to win their first overtime game since Feb. 18, 2024, when they beat Mississippi State in Oxford, 75-71. Ole Miss has won the last four of its games that have been forced into overtime, dating back to the 2022-23 season. Additionally, Yolett McPhee-McCuin is now 5-4 in overtime games as the Rebels head coach.

HIT ONE HUNDRED
Scoring 102 points against Longwood, Ole Miss dropped triple-digit scoring for the first time since Dec. 8, 2020, when they scored 104 against Alcorn State at home. It's the second time under head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin that Ole Miss has scored at least 100 points and the 36th time ever in program history.
