SERIES HISTORY
The Rebels and Terriers are set to face off for the first time ever.

SCOUTING THE TERRIERS
Jimmy Garrity is in his 10th year at the helm of Wofford's women's basketball program. During his tenure, he's helped develop numerous All-Conference student-athletes, earned SoCon Coach of the Year in 2022-23 and a 22-win season resulting in a regular season conference title for the Terriers. He's coached the past three SoCon Players of the Year, establishing himself as a premier developer of talent in Spartanburg.

Despite a 4-5 record entering Saturday's contest, Wofford is exceeding expectations. The Terriers are top-three in the SoCon in 18 statistical categories, including the top mark in 11. Wofford boasts the conference's best field goal percentage, both offensively and defensively, the best rebound margin, the best scoring offense and the widest scoring margin and have the fewest turnovers per game. The Terriers are 37th nationally in rebounds per game and 38th in rebound margin.

Junior forward Queen Ikhiuwu has much to do with Wofford's rebounding success. She's averaging 7.2 per game, second best in the conference. She's also Wofford's top scorer, averaging 14.1 points per game. At guard, Gabby Mundy highlights Wofford's backcourt, averaging 12.3 points and a team-leading 4.4 assists per game. Mundy isn't a slouch on the boards either, as she averages 5.9 per game at only 5-foot-6.

Molly Masingale and Toni Warren are two key returners for the Terriers. Masingale is the top returning scorer for Wofford, having averaged 10.8 points per game last season. Warren played significant minutes last season and has made the jump so far this season at 9.1 points per game.

It's critical Ole Miss stays out of foul trouble, as Wofford is one of the most effective teams in the country from the charity stripe. As a team, they're shooting 76.8 percent from the line, which is 41st nationally and tops for the Southern Conference. Junior guard Maddie Heiss in particular has shouldered a great load of that success, making 30 of her 31 attempts this season for an impressive 96.8 percent.

GAMES AGAINST THE SOUTHERN CONFERENCE
The Rebels are 14-5 all-time against SoCon opponents. Ole Miss most recently played Samford, playing it twice in 2021. The Rebels won both games that calendar year, the latter one a dominant 73-48 outing in Oxford. In total, Ole Miss has played Mercer the most among SoCon opponents, holding an 8-3 record against the Bears. However, the two teams have not met since 1988. In fact, Samford and Chattanooga are the only SoCon teams Ole Miss has faced in the 21st century.

Ole Miss' last loss to a SoCon team came against Samford on March 18, 2010. Head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin is 7-1 in her head coaching career against SoCon teams, two of those wins have come during her tenure in Oxford.

THE EXPECTATION, NOT THE EXCEPTION
Entering year eight of the Yolett McPhee-McCuin era in Oxford, the standard has been set. Two Sweet 16s in three years, four NCAA Tournaments in a row, four straight 10-win SEC seasons, multiple All-SEC selections and three WNBA Draft picks, the Rebels have re-asserted themselves as a top program in women's college basketball.

8-1
Kicking off the season 8-1, Ole Miss has earned its best start since 2021-22, when the Rebels also began the year 8-1. It marks the second time in head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin's tenure at the helm that Ole Miss has started the season so well. In the Rebels' 51 years of history, Ole Miss has commenced the season 8-1 or better only 22 times all-time, including six instances in the 21st century.

THE IWUALA IMPACT
Christeen Iwuala has established herself as one of the top frontcourt players in the SEC throughout the nonconference season. She has recorded a double-double in four of her past seven outings, after previously never earning the feat in any of her three seasons of collegiate basketball prior. She's the first Rebel since Madison Scott in 2022-23 to have that many double-doubles in the first nine games of the season.

Additionally, Iwuala has grabbed the most rebounds by a Rebel in seven games this year, leading Ole Miss in the category, while also leading the Rebels in scoring four times. She is following the pattern that Rebel transfers under Coach Yo tend to blossom in their second year in Oxford, joining the likes of Marquesha Davis, Angel Baker and Shakira Austin.

SHE'S THE mcMAHON
Cotie McMahon has provided a spark to the Ole Miss offense in her first season in Oxford, becoming the first Rebel since Shandricka Sessom in 2015-16 to have double-digit points in the first nine games of the season. She is also the first Rebel since Shakira Austin in 2020-21 to have four games with over 20 points to commence the year.

DON'T COUNT OUT THE REBS
Defeating Notre Dame 69-62, Ole Miss survived a 19-point deficit in the second quarter of the ACC/SEC Challenge, tying its largest comeback in program history. Last time the Rebels came back from 19 points to win was on Jan. 29, 2023, against Arkansas.

Coming out of the lockeroom with the score at 37-29 after chipping away at the 19-point deficit, Cotie McMahon sparked the comeback in the third quarter with her second three of the night, before Denim DeShields and Debreasha Powe hit back-to-back triples to give Ole Miss its first lead. A Sira Thienou block set up a McMahon fastbreak finish, sending the Rebels into the fourth ahead 50-49 after a dominant 21-12 quarter. Ole Miss carried that momentum through the final frame, with Christeen Iwuala and McMahon combining for 13 points, Thienou adding two key steals, and Powe knocking down clutch free throws. Despite Notre Dame's late makes, the Rebels' advantage held firm, sealing the comeback victory.
