Track & Field’s Tarik Robinson-O’Hagan Wins Fifth SEC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week Award

2/18/2025 | Track and Field

BIRMINGHAM, Ala – Ole Miss track & field junior Tarik Robinson-O'Hagan has been named SEC Men's Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.

This is already Robinson-O'Hagan's fourth sole victory of the season, his fifth total including his shared win from last week.

Last week at Vanderbilt's Music City Challenge, Robinson-O'Hagan – a member of The Bowerman watch list – remained undefeated in the shot put this season at a career-best and NCAA-leading heave of 21.11m/69-03.25 to break his previous school record of 21.05m/69-00.75. His latest performance ranks him 21st in collegiate history, while this season he ranks seventh worldwide and second in the United States.

In the weight throw, Robinson-O'Hagan remained undefeated against collegiate opponents after taking third at 23.34m/76-2. His performances in both events make him one of two athletes in collegiate history (alongside North Dakota State's Payton Otterdahl in 2019) to break 21 meters in the shot put and 23 meters in the weight throw within the same meet, and he has now done so twice this season. Robinson-O'Hagan currently leads the SEC in the weight throw while ranking seventh worldwide and fourth collegiately with a season best at 24.17m/79-03.75.

Ole Miss will send a small distance delegation to Notre Dame's Alex Wilson Invite on Saturday, Feb. 22, while the remainder of the squad will rest in preparation for the 2025 SEC Indoor Championships, which are set for Feb. 27 to March 1 at Texas A&M.
