Madison Scott Named a 2025 Gillom Trophy Finalist

2/27/2025 | Women's Basketball

JACKSON, Miss. – Postseason accolades are starting to roll in for the Rebels, as Ole Miss women's basketball graduate student Madison Scott has been named one of three finalists for the 2025 Gillom Trophy presented by the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians and Pearl River Resort.

Scott is joined as a finalist for the prestigious award by Jerkaila Jordan from Mississippi State and Jackson State's Taleah Dilworth. The winner will be announced at a luncheon held at the Pearl River Resort on Monday, March 10.

The Gillom Trophy has been presented annually since 2008 to the most outstanding women's basketball player in the state, in honor of Ole Miss legend Peggie Gillom-Granderson. A Rebel has won the award three of the last four seasons, with Shakira Austin taking home the trophy in 2021 and 2022, then Angel Baker in 2023.

Scott has proved to be one of the most electrifying players on the floor for the Rebels this year, leading Ole Miss with an average of 12.2 points and 3.9 assists per game. The Indian Head, Maryland, native boasts the longest streak of scoring 10-or-more points by a Rebel this season, notching eight consecutive games in double figures, while tallying a team-high 17 total.

Scott has proven her longevity, as she officially became the most experienced player in Ole Miss history. In her 145th career game versus No. 8 Kentucky, she passed the award's namesake Gillom-Granderson herself for most games played donning an OIe Miss jersey.

The graduate student also climbed the leaderboard in many categories of the program records, solidifying herself in the top 5 of career games in double-digit scoring with 90 and secured the No. 2 spot for career free-throws made with 391.
