No. 1 Men’s Golf Wraps Play at Cabo Collegiate

LOS CABOS, Mexico – In a field with six of the top 20 teams in the country, the No. 1 Ole Miss men's golf team concluded play Tuesday at the Cabo Collegiate. The Rebels finished 13th posting a team score of (+28, 880). Michael La Sasso and Tom Fischer each finished inside the top 25 led by La Sasso who finished 13th.
"This group has been incredibly consistent to this point in the season" said head coach Chris Malloy. "However, this week we were anything but that. We need to get back and regroup before our next event. If we want to be an elite program, then we can't have weeks like this."
La Sasso had the low round on the day for Ole Miss, carding a (-1, 70). He made five birdies on the day and shot three-under on his back nine. He now has 14 rounds of par or better on the year and has finished inside the top 13 in every event this season.
Tom Fischer posted his third top 25 finish of the season with a score of (+4, 217).
On the week Ole Miss tallied 40 birdies as a team. La Sasso ranked fourth in the field in par 3 scoring averaging 2.83 strokes per hole.
Ole Miss will return home and gear up for the Pauma Valley Invitational March 17-18. Pauma Valley Country Club will be the site of the two-day event with Loyola Marymount University set to serve as the host school.
